Meet Jennie Harvat of Blue Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennie Harvat.

Hi Jennie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story is really one of survival, healing, and transformation. I’ve been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over a decade, helping others navigate trauma, anxiety, and life transitions — but my own journey has shaped me just as much as my career.

I survived years of domestic violence, lived through two abusive marriages, and spent much of my adult life raising my two boys as a single parent with very little support. There were times when I felt invisible, unheard, and convinced that my pain defined me. But each setback became a seed. Those experiences taught me resilience, compassion, and the power of finding beauty and magic even in the darkest places.

Enchanted Art & Healing was born from that soil. I blended my clinical training with my love of holistic healing, herbal medicine, and art. I wanted to create not just products, but experiences — teas, balms, candles, and rituals that help people reclaim peace, self-worth, and a sense of enchantment in their daily lives.

Today, my business is a reflection of both my professional expertise and my personal healing. It’s proof that pain doesn’t have to be the ending — it can be the beginning of something beautiful.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth road? Not even close. Mine’s looked more like a winding backroad full of potholes, detours, and a couple of spectacular wipeouts. I’ve survived two abusive marriages, years of feeling invisible, and the chaos of raising two boys with absent fathers. Survival mode was my normal for a long time.

At the same time, I was building a career in social work — starting at the state hospital, then working on an acute inpatient psychiatric unit, stepping into hospice care, and later community mental health. Each role taught me something different about resilience, grief, and the human spirit. Eventually, I became an independent contractor, working with military service members and their families — some of the most courageous, yet quietly struggling, people I’ve ever had the privilege to support.

So no, it hasn’t been smooth. But the bumps and bruises, both personally and professionally, gave me a perspective I wouldn’t trade. They shaped me into someone who not only understands trauma and healing on a clinical level, but who has lived it. And that combination is at the heart of Enchanted Art & Healing.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My heart has always been in healing — first as a therapist, and now as an artist and maker. Enchanted Art & Healing is where those worlds come together. I create herbal teas, balms, room sprays, candles, resin incense, and enchanted collections that are more than just products; they’re extensions of the therapeutic work I’ve always done. Each item is crafted with intention — to soothe, empower, protect, or inspire.

Alongside my products, I also wrote a guided journal called Wild & Unburdened. It weaves together therapeutic practices, mindfulness, and holistic rituals to help people release shame, embrace their authentic selves, and reclaim emotional freedom. Just like my handmade creations, the journal is meant to be both a tool and a companion on someone’s healing journey.

What excites me most is watching someone light up when they realize self-care can feel magical. A tea becomes a ritual, a balm becomes a blessing, a room spray shifts the energy of a whole space. I see my work as giving people tools to reclaim their peace, power, and joy in ways that feel tangible, beautiful, and deeply personal.

I think what sets me apart is that my creations — whether a product, a journal, or even a moment of connection — are born from both lived experience and a genuine desire to heal. I’ve walked through pain, I’ve sat with others in theirs, and I’ve found ways to transform it into something enchanted. That’s the soul of my work — healing disguised as art.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memories are wrapped up in the times I spent with my grandparents. We’d take road trips from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Estes Park, Colorado with Neil Diamond on repeat — singing the whole way there. I can still remember the joy of stopping at the mountain creeks to wade in the icy water, then wandering the little shops in town, feeling like the world was full of magic waiting to be discovered.

My grandmother was the heart of those adventures. She was the kindest, most generous soul I’ve ever known, and her spirit still guides me today. And alongside her influence, I carry my mother’s fascination with the moon — she always found beauty and mystery in it, which planted a seed in me that continues to bloom in the way I create, heal, and live.

Looking back, those road trips, my grandmother’s love, and my mother’s moon-gazing are all threads in the tapestry of who I’ve become. They taught me to look for wonder in everyday moments, to honor kindness as a form of strength, and to see the world as enchanted — which is exactly what I try to infuse into my work today.
