Today we’d like to introduce you to Jane Romanova-Hrenchir.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I moved to the United States in July of 2005 to start a family. Quickly I realized that even though America is a great country, there are a lot of things I do miss from home. Then I found a Russian speaking community and started attending some events.
Soon after the current organizer announced that he could no longer lead the group and I volunteered for a position of a community organizer. With two toddlers and 3rd child on the way, it seemed pretty logical 🙂 That is how it all started. Together with my husband, we organized many events throughout the next decade. Then we decided to create a nonprofit organization and reach even more people! We started Russian language classes for children and adults and continued working on our existing projects such as charity work and many other community events.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I love working with people, so being a community organizer have been very rewarding experience for me. Often I meet people who need help and I always try to do what I can.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
In the last 16 years of living in the United States, I have been wearing lots of hats! From being a full-time mother of three children to a model, teacher, organizer and now also a property manager. Work never stops for me!
What’s next?
I believe our future is fluid. I never plan too far ahead but try to adapt as we move along. I could have never imagined I would be doing what I do today twenty years ago, but this where life took me.
