Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela (Gaby) Torres Flores.
Hi Gabriela (Gaby), we appreciate you sharing your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I graduated in my native country (Venezuela) as a lawyer, and I carried out various studies in more branches of law; After the immigration process and everything that this entails, so many emotions, so many experiences, I always felt the desire to improve myself and somehow not forget my training, which I am in love with (laws), I looked for a way to learn, and after Taking several classes I was able to certify myself as a forms preparer under the seal of an Institute that is in the state of Florida (IMMIGRATION INSTITUTE OF FLORIDA), having a relationship with people that honesty and respect are my flags. But above all, being able to help others motivates me, fills me up, and I think it’s wonderful to reinvent yourself in many situations in life. It has been two years of hard work, perseverance and believing in myself in my abilities. In my dream I hope to study law and train as an immigration lawyer and thus continue working in another field. I want to do great things, grow and be inspired by who I am, a real Gabriela, with mistakes and virtues, but carrying the fact that you can always be a better person. There is always a path that leads us to success and happiness. And I think that my migration process can be relief and tools for many people, that somehow things must be done well.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are no moments that have not been easy; sometimes I have had to paste pieces of myself, nostalgia, the death of loved ones and trying to learn the language, adapting among other things. Sometimes the path has been more challenging. Even so, today I thank God that I lived through everything because I learned from it; I transformed and I evolved to be a better version of myself. Sometimes the roads will not be easy, but when you believe in what makes you happy, that changes are sometimes necessary, and that you should always have a good attitude, everything becomes easier. My husband, my daughter and my son have been the reason for the struggle to get up if I have fallen. My mom will always be my hero and she taught me to fight… She gives me the necessary words when the going gets tough. The sun rises for everyone, and it is worth trying to reach your goal.
I appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Gtorresimmigration?
I dedicate myself to filling out immigration forms, I get certified for that. When the case requires it, I work hand in hand with the immigration lawyers. My idea is to establish a service relationship where the client is satisfied and, above all, learns from the process and then be brought by a lawyer. My process involves everything related to family petitions, adjustment of status and translations of all kinds of documents, I like to offer reliable methods and that clients feel that they are constantly being told the truth (some things cannot be done and you have to respect the laws), I like to encourage people to fix their immigration processes, to respect the rules and to be good people for this beautiful country. It fills me with pride to know that there is a Latino market to which I can help or collaborate so that they are better after a consultation with the immigration lawyer and see what their possible response is; getting involved at each stage and always keeping them informed is something that makes a difference, a real and honest service, that is why I seek to continue studying to have more knowledge on various topics.
I want you to know that all this was born from a dream, from wanting to do things right, from feeling that I am still alive believing in this and that it is only the beginning of what I have dreamed of for years. My sister has been a great support to develop this dream and make the business seek to grow. I am always honest when I tell them that I cannot give any legal advice and that, depending on the situation, I should refer them to an immigration attorney, it is important to be clear about how far you can help them. We all have talents. I am a faithful believer in empathy, in that shared knowledge makes us better and great people because the competition is definitely with yourself; I will always seek to support the good things; We have to get together with good people, with positive people who contribute to you and feed your knowledge. Constant learning nourishes you, and wisdom should never stop; being genuine and rejoicing in other undertakings and the successes of those around us are no longer seen. Therefore, we must make a difference and be the best people in any situation.
Networking and finding a mentor can have a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My advice is always to seek to do things well and go hand in hand with preparing, training more and more and managing social networks. My Gtorresimmigration IG page has been wonderful. An incredible receptivity to each comment, to each satisfied customer over there. I can tell you that a surprise is coming from a client (a young boy) who managed to obtain a sports scholarship and did everything as it should be by immigration law because dreams never expire. Years ago today, the immigration lawyer Natalia Salazar told me about her experience of how she began her process by filling out immigration forms and, with a lot of discipline and effort, she ended up achieving her dream of being an immigration lawyer. She has been a great mentor, I also mention the lawyer Ros Ana Guillen (Guillén Law Firm) has been an inspiration in how they have made their way and how dreams are achieved, they are people who make a difference. The limit is the sky.
