My story is defined by a continuous drive to bridge cultures, legal systems, and borders. Ten years ago, my journey took a major step forward when I defended my law school thesis in Honduras, focusing on international law, foreign proceedings, and consular matters. That academic foundation directly fueled the first phase of my career, inspiring me to represent clients in sensitive transnational family legalities—such as dual nationality and multinational marriages—across Central America and other countries for five years as an independent attorney.
During that time, I scaled my practice and began navigating complex regulatory frameworks, such as securing high-stakes environmental licenses to keep multi-million-dollar maquilas operating safely in Honduras for international industrial and textile investors. In the textile sector, a legal error in a wastewater or environmental permit can halt an entire production line, costing a company millions. I don’t just read the law; I understand the industrial processes behind it, balancing local Honduran regulations with global legal standards. That dual legal-environmental perspective is what allows me to fast-track investments while strictly protecting Honduras’ natural resources.
With that long-term expertise, expanding my legal vision into the United States meant stepping into an entirely new market, adapting to a new language, and bridging the gap between Roman/Civil Law and the U.S. Common Law system. I committed fully to meeting every single requirement to practice law in the States—evaluating and transferring my law degree credentials, taking targeted coursework to master legal English, and taking every necessary step toward a U.S. Juris Doctor program designed for foreign-trained attorneys who want to practice law in the States.
It is a demanding journey, but I am committed to breaking every barrier and redefining the reach of law. I have built a practice that travels with me, offering a high-value and powerful duality ranging from industrial compliance to sensitive transnational matters—always centered on building a global, borderless perspective.
With this transition in my career, standing as the ultimate legal bridge between Honduras and the global community is also a statement to encourage my community of independent, foreign-trained Latino professionals in the U.S. to plan and expand their legacy in the global market.

The Road: Navigating Barriers and Rebuilding Strategy
It has been anything but a smooth road. Moving from an established practice in your home country to an entirely new system in the United States requires shedding your comfort zone and starting over at the foundational level.
The biggest challenge hasn’t just been learning a new language—it’s been mastering the precise, highly technical realm of U.S. Legal English while simultaneously rewiring my legal mindset. Transitioning from the Roman/Civil Law system used in Latin America to the Anglo-Saxon Common Law system used in the U.S. is like learning an entirely new operating language. In Civil Law, everything stems from written codes and new oral procedures; in Common Law, it is built on case precedent, judicial interpretation, and dynamic oral argument.
On top of the academic shift, there are the rigorous administrative and systemic hurdles: evaluating international degree credentials, navigating credit transfers, and meeting every exact requirement to enter a U.S. Juris Doctor program designed for foreign-trained attorneys.
There were moments where balancing the technical demands of this transition with maintaining my active consulting work was grueling. But I’ve always viewed these obstacles as proof of concept. Overcoming the friction of bridging two distinct legal systems is exactly what built my edge. It proved that my legal vision isn’t bound by geographic or institutional borders—it is built on adaptability, discipline, and execution.

In manufacturing and textile operations, an environmental or wastewater permitting oversight can halt an entire supply chain, costing millions. My expertise ensures that international investments remain fully operational and compliant while upholding environmental standards. On the personal law side, I handle delicate cross-border matters, including dual nationality proceedings, international marriages, and multi-jurisdictional family legalities.

Building a practice that travels across jurisdictions allows me to serve as a true legal bridge between Honduras, the United States, and the broader global market—showing that foreign-trained legal professionals can establish an enduring, high-impact legacy on the global stage.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
For me, real-life stories of resilience are my greatest resource. I look to figures like actress Eiza González, who built a high-value acting career in Latin America but often faced a lack of initial support from her own community, alongside language barriers and industry skepticism when transitioning to the U.S. Instead of letting those barriers define her, she committed herself to debuting in Hollywood, mastering a new market, and ultimately becoming one of the most respected and recognized actresses in the industry.
Her story directly mirrored my own vision when I decided to launch my legal practice in a new market. Beyond overcoming the professional shift, navigating this transition as a member of the LGBTQ+ community—in an environment where that identity was not always accepted—demanded extra resilience. Today, standing as a premium global attorney, my purpose goes far beyond practicing law. My mission is to fight for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community in Honduras, advocating for protection while actively cultivating true acceptance, unity, and empowerment within our own community.
