Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabbi Miller.
Gabbi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always known that I wanted to go into Journalism ever since I was a kid. I always thought I was going to be in social media and work with big brands to make viral moments. It turns out that social media definitely is not for everyone.
When I was in college, I was able to work with multiple agencies and realized that I loved being a part of the relationship process. During my first full-time agency job, I was able to form relationships with multiple clients while also managing the projects they requested.
Looking back, I think there were some discrepancies in my job title and the actual work I was doing and after a while, I had to pick whether I wanted to be client-facing or behind the scenes. I now work on project management at one of the largest agencies in the Midwest and I have never been happier.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nope. I graduated college as a global pandemic hit and so finding a job at first was extremely hard.
I had to go on unemployment and had to work side hustles for the first year I was out of school. Coming into my first agency job was a breath of fresh air, but working for a male-dominated company came with its own set of challenges.
I was never taken seriously and I feel like I had to work twice as hard for any kind of recognition.
We’ve been impressed with Signal Theory, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I work in project management for our retail clients at Signal Theory.
I love being able to problem solve and no day is ever the same. Signal Theory strives to incorporate human behavior into everything we do which I also find to be amazing.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
So many people deserve credit for my success. All of my mentors, friends, and family have contributed to my progression in my career.
