Today we’d like to introduce you to DBANDZ KC.

Hi DBANDZ, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m DBANDZ / DBANDZ KC of Wyandotte County Kansas. My dream as an artist started many years ago when my pops taught me how to rap at 8 years old. From there my dream slowly became reality when I began releasing music with my neighborhood friends around 16. I got my first real push after releasing the music video to “Trippin” which was shot in my high school and helped me become locally known. From that moment on I never stopped and eventually went on to accomplish small success around the world.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No road is smooth when you’re living in your purpose. A smooth road usually is a sign that you aren’t trying enough or you have made it through the hard part God put you through. You lose friends, relationships, family. All sorts of things you deal with and I’ve seen the worst of the worst so I’m thankful to still be here creating art.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about WorldWide KC?
My record label I created is called WorldWide KC. It started off as a group formed from the local artist/creatives I would throw shows with and eventually became my labels namesake. I’ve signed multiple artist even a few international and I help with their releases as well as artist development. I’m also a self taught audio engineer/producer as well. I think it’s rare to see a individual who’s fully able to operate in house and that along with my reach outside the country is what makes WorldWide KC.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
As a kid everyone will tell you I was cool as ice but also somewhat quiet to strangers. I’m a person who believes I can do anything so I was interested in skateboarding, basketball and WWE growing up. My family on both sides do music so that’s always been apart of my world also. I’m from the neighborhood 72nd (7 Deuce to Wyandotte natives) as well as 64th and 68th street near Schlagle so if you’re from Wyandotte you know it was all love growing up.
