Meet Casey Steinmiller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Steinmiller.

Hi Casey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in a small town in Southeast Kansas, Pittsburg. Went to college and realized while at a College Entertainment booking convention that my calling was working in the music industry. When I graduated, I started touring and traveling with small bands all over the country and driving two hours to work shows in Kansas City. I slowly built up my client base and started working and traveling with larger and larger artists eventually getting on bus tours. After four years of traveling and couch surfing, I finally ended up moving to Kansas City where I now use as a home base as a full-time Creative.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s been a lot of ups and downs! Coming from a place with almost no music scene working into the industry was very challenging as I had zero contacts. It was a slow uphill battle to connect with people, let alone make any money. There were plenty of times I would crash on friend’s couches or sleep in my car just so I could string together a few shows in a weekend before I would drive back down to Pittsburg.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I do so many things! The easiest way to describe it would be Creative Director for Artists and Musicians traveling and touring with them, creating content, and helping with branding. I do anything they could possibly need on or off the road from live show photos to music videos, portraits, graphics and even taking meet and greet photos while coordinating the meet and greet itself.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I absolutely love my job and it’s been such a wild ride to even get where I am. Whether working with a huge or small artist, it’s so incredibly rewarding just to be working in music.
