Today we’d like to introduce you to Candice Vaughn
Hi Candice, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My real estate journey began when I purchased my first home at 24 years old. I didn’t have a ton of money, but I knew I wanted to be a homeowner, and I knew that I would eventually want to rent it out to start my journey as a real estate investor. That experience is what inspired me to become a real estate agent. In 2016, I took a leap of faith and decided to pursue a career in real estate full time. I was drawn to the industry by the idea of helping people achieve one of the most significant milestones in their lives: buying and selling a home. At the time, I didn’t have much experience, just a drive to learn, a passion for people, and a determination to succeed. I started my career as a full-time real estate agent in my hometown of Huntsville, AL.
Within my first year, I was a top producer and was named Rookie of Year. I later went on to set the bar high for myself, each time increasing my volume and achieving my real estate goals. The early days weren’t easy. I invested countless hours studying the market, mastering contracts, and building trust, creating connections and truly understanding my clients’ needs. With nearly a decade of experience as a top producing Realtor/Broker, I find myself being approached by newer agents looking for guidance. I remembered how overwhelming it felt to start in this business and how much I would have appreciated mentorship. That’s when I decided to share what I had learned not just with newer agents but also with seasoned agents looking to take their careers to the next level.
Along with my passion for real estate, I am also very passionate about health and fitness. Thankfully, I have been able to live the best of both worlds by helping individuals on their fitness journey as well. I am a certified Barre and Zumba instructor, and I absolutely enjoy teaching both just as much as I enjoy facilitating real estate transactions. Real Estate and Fitness has given me so much more than a career, it’s given me a platform to serve others, whether it’s my clients, my colleagues, or the agents I coach. Looking back at my journey since 2016, I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited for what’s still ahead.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. Starting out, you have no experience and you have to find clients who are willing to trust that you have the skills and knowledge to help them achieve their real estate goals. Open houses, late-night research, and marketing strategies became my life. But I quickly realized that success in real estate wasn’t just about knowing properties but it was about building trust and meaningful relationships.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a real estate agent, I specialize in working with buyers, sellers, and families relocating. Helping them navigate the complexities of finding or selling a home with confidence and ease.
What sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to personalized service, attention to detail, and the ability to truly understand my clients’ unique needs and goals. I pride myself on building lasting relationships by prioritizing clear communication, honesty, and a seamless experience from start to finish. Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the trust I’ve cultivated within my community- a reputation for delivering exceptional results while making my clients feel supported every step of the way. For me, it’s not just about transactions; it’s about creating a positive impact on the lives of the families I serve.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Kansas City is the sense of community and the pride people take in their city. I love the amazing local food scene (hello, barbecue! even though I’m pescatarian lol) to the thriving arts and sports communities- Go Chiefs! The city has a perfect balance of big city amenities and a small town feel, making it a welcoming place to live and work. What I like least, though, is adjusting to the cold/snow. As someone new to the area and born and raised in the south, navigating the cold weather has been my biggest challenge.
