Meet Brooklyn Harder of M&B Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooklyn Harder.

Brooklyn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I originally went to nursing school to pursue a career in healthcare. During nursing school I realized it’s not what I was truly passionate about.
After some minor bumps along the way I eventually went to cosmetology school in 2022 and found exactly what I was looking for.
I had done my own hair, my friend’s hair, and my mom’s hair for as long as I could remember. It was always something I loved to do, it never felt like a chore it just felt natural.
I’ve been lucky enough to turn that into a career that I love more than anything. I enjoy helping people, just in a different way than healthcare.
I love helping people feel more confident, beautiful, and like the best version of themselves.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It wasn’t the easiest for me. Right out of cosmetology school I began working for a corporate salon and it truly wasn’t meant for me. I felt like I didn’t have the freedom I’ve been looking for. Though I will be forever grateful for the lessons I learned and the clients I gained.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
After leaving the corporate salon, my close friend and I decided to open our own place.
We worked tirelessly setting our room up and making it just right for ourselves and our clients.
I like to pride myself in my work and having a space where I can freely be myself has helped greatly.
I specialize in color, whether it be fashion colors, highlights, etc. I find a true passion in it. I want to be able to find exactly what’s right for every person. I listen to every concern and will find a way to work with everyone.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was when my mom took my sister and I to get our hair done.
This was the first time she was letting us get color in our hair and I can remember myself being over the moon.
I decided to pick out BRIGHT blue highlights, they were chunky of course.
I was so excited to go to school the following day and show my hair off to everyone.
