Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Revuelta.
Hi Brooke, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
If someone had told me a few years ago that pickleball would become my career, I probably would’ve laughed. I grew up playing tennis from the age of four and spent over 13 years competing as a junior, eventually becoming captain of my high school varsity team and winning state championships. Tennis was all I had ever known, and I expected it to stay that way.
Everything changed in early 2023 when a friend introduced me to pickleball. What started as something fun quickly, and a nice break from tennis, became an obsession. I loved that the game was incredibly competitive but also brought people together in a way I’d never experienced before.
Just a few months later, I decided to test myself at the professional level. One of my first tournaments was the PPA Denver Open in July 2023, where I played Anna Leigh Waters. Even though I lost (11-8, 11-9), I walked off the court believing I belonged. That match changed my mindset and gave me the confidence to chase a dream that suddenly felt possible.
Since then, my life has taken me places I never imagined. I’ve competed throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, played professionally in India, represented the APP as a touring pro, and traveled with Armed Forces Entertainment and Pro Sports MVP introducing pickleball to U.S. military service members and their families around the world.
The best part isn’t just competing—it’s seeing how one sport can connect people from completely different backgrounds. Whether I’m on court, teaching a clinic, or meeting someone who’s picking up a paddle for the very first time, I’m reminded why I fell in love with pickleball in the first place.
At 20 years old, I know this is only the beginning. I’m excited to keep pushing myself as an athlete while helping bring pickleball to even more people around the world.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest challenge wasn’t learning pickleball, it was believing in myself enough to choose an unconventional path. Ok, well, learning how to dink I admit was a challenge!
But I turned down opportunities to play Division I college tennis because I believed I could build something special in a sport that was still growing. That was a huge leap of faith. There wasn’t a roadmap, there weren’t guarantees, and there were plenty of people who questioned whether it was the right decision.
Professional sports also come with realities that people don’t always see. There are constant flights, weeks away from home, injuries, training, recovery, and significant travel expenses. Every tournament is another opportunity to prove yourself because nothing is guaranteed.
One thing my family has taught me is to keep showing up, even when things don’t go your way. They’ve sacrificed so much to help me pursue this dream, and that motivates me every time I step on the court.
Looking back, I’m grateful for every challenge because they’ve made every achievement that much more meaningful. They’ve taught me resilience, humility, and the importance of staying focused on the bigger picture rather than comparing my journey to anyone else’s.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Most people know me as a professional pickleball player, but I like to think of my role as much bigger than competing for medals.
I help introduce people to one of the fastest-growing sports in the world while creating experiences that inspire connection, confidence, and community. Whether that’s competing professionally, teaching clinics, representing the APP internationally, speaking at events, working with resorts, or creating content, my goal is always the same: leave people more excited about pickleball than they were before they met me.
What I’m most proud of isn’t a ranking or a medal. It’s hearing from young athletes, parents, and even retirees who tell me they decided to try pickleball because they followed my journey. Knowing I’ve helped someone discover a new passion is incredibly rewarding.
I think what sets me apart is that my career has naturally become global. I’ve competed on three continents, represented the sport internationally, introduced pickleball to military communities overseas, and connected with people from countless different backgrounds. As a Vietnamese, Cuban, and American athlete, I love representing how inclusive and welcoming this sport has become.
At the end of the day, I hope people remember me not only as someone who competed at a high level, but as someone who helped make pickleball more accessible, more exciting, and more inspiring for the next generation.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I’m always excited to work with brands and organizations that genuinely align with who I am and what I believe in. The best partnerships are built on trust, shared values, and a true connection to the people and products behind them. I want to represent brands, places, and experiences that I believe in and would be proud to share with others.
One of the things I love most about my career is that no two days are ever the same. One week I might be competing in a professional tournament, the next teaching clinics, visiting a resort, traveling internationally, introducing pickleball to U.S. military service members and their families, or meeting someone picking up a paddle for the very first time. Those experiences have allowed me to connect with people of all ages, cultures, and backgrounds, and that is one of the most rewarding parts of this journey.
I’m excited to collaborate with people and organizations that are passionate about what they do and want to create something meaningful together. Whether it’s inspiring the next generation, encouraging healthier lifestyles, supporting communities, creating memorable experiences, or introducing people to something new, I love finding ways to connect through shared passions and common goals.
Ultimately, I hope to build long-term relationships with partners who believe in authenticity, hard work, and making a difference. I want to be part of something bigger than myself, using my platform and my journey to inspire others to stay active, chase new opportunities, explore the world, and discover the joy that sports can bring.
