Meet Brittany Raymond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Raymond.

Hi Brittany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Makeup and all things beauty has forever been a passion of mine. From a very early age, I loved makeup and the fun of mixing random colors to create art. Although, I did not start pursuing my makeup journey until I was around 18 years old.

I am 21 now and I am still continuing to learn and improve on my skills. Coming from a very small town in Kansas originally, it was hard to fully express my love for makeup in public. Judgment was passed around there like a bad cold… especially in high school.

It’s no secret that I love to do traditional makeup looks but if am I going, to be honest, I have always been in love with creating different concepts and breaking the “traditional” makeup stereotype that people have built upon for so long. As I continue to get older and wiser, I am going to continue creating and expressing my talent. As for the future, I hope to start my own makeup brand and do makeup full-time. Thank you!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As social media users continue to rise and more makeup artists continue to create, I feel the makeup community is becoming oversaturated (in the best way possible of course.) It’s sort of a bittersweet feeling. On one hand, I am so excited and happy to see other MUA’s continue to grow and chase their dreams but on another, it continuously makes it harder to build a solid platform for myself.

So I would not consider my journey a “smooth road”, but more so a bumpy one. It has had its ups and downs haha.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a Licensed Cosmetologist! I as of right now specialize in makeup for all events. My personal favorites are for prom or bridal parties. I am known for being a jack of all trades. If you need/want a certain look then I will do my best to create that look you envision!

I am very proud of the fact I graduated from Cosmetology school during Covid-19. It was not easy, but I put in hours of my time to make this experience the best I could. I was the president of my leadership team for a term and continued to support my school in any way possible! Crazy it’s almost been a year since I’ve graduated lol.

Something that I feel personally sets me apart from others is the fact I can look at a photo and instantly create a makeup look from it. It is something I really enjoy doing! It allows all of the creative juices to start flowing and adds zero pressure to something as simple as creating.

What are your plans for the future?
I hope to own my own little salon where I will do hair and makeup! Also, I would love to create my own cosmetics company. The process of creating cosmetics has always fascinated me.
