Today we’d like to introduce you to Auni Sublette

Hi Auni, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I first graduated high school I had no idea what career path I wanted to pursue but I knew I wanted to be in a field where I get to be around people and be apart of making their day better. I had no idea what an Esthetician was and it was fairly an unknown profession that was rapidly gaining more popularity due to social media.
Once I started Esthetician school I knew this was exactly what I was meant to do.

After graduating, I found myself again lost at which direction I wanted to go in my career considering the sky was the limit. I started out at a salon in Overland Park that closed down within a year of me working there and that was scary so I ended up at a Salon in Leawood and worked there for 6 years before starting a family and once that happened I knew I was going to have to take the biggest leap of faith in my life by going into business for myself. As scary as it was I knew that having complete control of my schedule would be best for me and my family.

I knew the owners of BluSky Salon Suites for years and always knew that when I would take that next step I would hands down go there. Now I have been the owner of Aesthetic Journey for 3 years and continue to grow my business and make an impact in my clients lives daily who are like family to me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve faced several challenges along the way, and one important lesson I’ve learned about this field is that you need to have a strong passion to be successful. In the beginning, there can be a lot of waiting around for walk-ins and hoping to gain their trust so they will want to rebook with you. My biggest challenge was landing my first job as an esthetician in a high-end salon and spa in Overland Park. I felt confident that I could plant my roots and grow my career from there, but then, out of nowhere, we were shut down overnight. Being new to the field, I was completely blindsided and unsure of what was to come next. I found myself back at square one, needing to relocate and rebuild my clientele. Fortunately, I had the drive to not let this setback hold me back; instead, I viewed it as an opportunity to start fresh, which ultimately led me to Leawood.

We’ve been impressed with Aesthetic Journey , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the proud owner of Aesthetic Journey located at BluSky Salon Suites in Leawood KS. I am a licensed Esthetician who specializes in Makeup, Dermaplaning, custom facials, lash extensions, Lash lifts, brow laminations, and waxing.

What sets me apart is my attention to detail and professionalism. My clients are very important to me and I make sure their experience is exceptional every time they visit.

How do you think about luck?
I wouldn’t call it luck exactly, just blessings. Whether good or bad, any challenge I face I just know it will make me a better version of my self then I was before.
