Meet Aracely Arevalo of EnaMora Designs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aracely Arevalo.

Hi Aracely, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
After high school, I moved to Mexico and attended culinary and cosmetology school. I graduated from both trade schools and opened my salon. After 2 years, I moved back to Kansas City, where I attended Nail Tech school and found my passion. I graduated in 2015, started in my parent’s basement, worked at local salons, and ventured full-time into my business 3 years after the pandemic. I have been a full-time tech since 2020, and in that time also started my makeup line and added jewelry and other culture-themed products to my website.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
Never a smooth road. After high school finding my passion was difficult, but I learned a lot along the way. Financial struggles were always present, and I was afraid of taking that leap of faith in starting my own business, having to pause my business to have children, and losing clients along the way. Learning the mistakes of being a business owner, buying too much inventory, not creating a business plan, etc. All were bumps along the road.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
EnaMora Designs is a Latina Owned business that I want to continue growing throughout the years to come. So I’m able to leave something for my daughters. I am a licensed cosmetologist and professional nail technician. I included the word designs in my business name because I want to eventually venture into an array of things besides beauty products/services. My specialty is nailed. However, I am a very passionate person when it comes to Creativeness. I’ve added custom clothing and created my brand of makeup, I offer 1 on 1 classes to share my knowledge with others and make custom items for any event, and this year I have added event rentals to my long list of offerings. I wish there were 10 of me. I would own many salons and party planning businesses and get into interior design, to name a few. I am known for being organized, Neat, and creative with my clients. When I was home-based, my clients always asked me to help them decorate their homes. As I mentioned, I would love to get Into Interior design.

My passion for all these different things sets me apart from others. I’m not just tied down to one thing. I am willing to try different and am no longer scared to do so. I have clients who trust in me. I know my business will succeed.

I’m most proud of being Latina owned. I was raised to be proud of my Mexican heritage, and I branded my business by focusing on my culture. I recently lost my mommy, and She and my dad always taught me about my roots and everything. I learned I am putting into place and hope to make them proud. I want the readers to know that I am not your average home-based nail technician. I have many aspirations and goals, although I’ve been in business for a long time. It feels like I’m just getting started. I consider myself to be very professional, and I want to keep my business that way. I want people to know they can confide in me and respect me as a business owner. I spent a lot of time and money on my education and took pride. As far as my inventory, it changes regularly this year. I aim to focus on pop-up shops to see what the consumers like. As a nail technician, I offer all services with Natural nails and acrylics. I am a travel makeup artist and offer makeup and hairdos for important events.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those just starting.
If I Could talk to a younger me? I would tell myself to take that leap of faith. I would tell myself to follow my dreams, not give up working hard, and not listen to Negative criticism. To myself to follow my heart, follow my gut. Never give up, and do not compare yourself to others. Everything happens to others at different points In their life. If someone succeeded before you, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen to you. You have to work hard and be patient. Focus on your Goals and Find someone who motivates you, not someone you’re trying to compete with. Get out of your head and do it. If for any reason you don’t succeed, you didn’t fail because failing would have been not trying at all.
