Today we’d like to introduce you to Antionette Tabron.
Hi Antionette, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was 24 when I started my business with a few main reasons behind the idea; 1. Tired of working my 9-5, I had saved a bunch of money and wanted to invest in myself rather than spend carelessly, and last but not least I am a natural girl and it was hard finding products that actually worked on my hair. Fast forward I had started making my own hair products a couple years prior and since I had that money saved, I thought why not try a cosmetic brand. I started researching and purchasing practice products, I then started giving away samples and people returned. About 6 months after starting, I was doing really good with sales, had a website, a lot of business licenses, and decided to do a launch party. Here we are today “AnnieeAllureCollection”, home to exotic lip glosses and natural products that actually work for all hair textures.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
If you are a true business owner you know this road is not peaches and cream, however, you also understand the outcome will be very prosperous if you stick with it. Struggles:
1. Small business funding
2. Coding my website
3. Marketing can sometimes be challenging
4. Keeping things in order while still working my 9-5
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Little bit of a back story: so, I attend northwest in Maryville for “criminal justice” a few years later I started working for “USPS” and a few after that I started being a steward which is like a lawyer. Being a Capricorn I’ve always had a creative side and still wasn’t happy at my job, so I started thinking about what talents I wasn’t using because maybe that would fill the void. “Arts & crafts” was it! So then when it came to me deciding what business I wanted to open a cosmetic business would be great. I hand make lip gloss, specialize in natural hair products, I am known for both, and I’m most proud there is no manufacturer except me. I am set apart from other companies 1. Because I do still hold my position at “USPS” which allows me to ship effectively. 2. We host little girls’ birthday parties teaching them financial literacy and how to make gloss, and we are becoming the Walmart of cosmetics.
