Meet Anna Sarol of Lenexa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Sarol.

Hi Anna, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
An advocate and model for disability rights, Anna Sarol, aims to normalize the conversation around disability through her work as a social media blogger and keynote speaker. As part of her outreach to other disabled members and the broader public, she produces short-form educational videos on her online platforms. As a result of her efforts, Anna has been recognized and awarded nationally, including the 2022 Individual of the Year award from The Whole Person, the Youth Leadership Award from The United Spinal Association, and the 2023 Game Changer Award from WIN for Kansas City Women’s Sports.”

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Adapting to a world that wasn’t designed for disabled individuals was a challenge in the beginning. My biggest obstacle isn’t my inability to walk, run, or jump anymore but rather the attitudinal and social barriers I face. Hence, I dedicated my life to being a disability advocate and promoting awareness, inclusivity, and accessibility.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a full-time content creator specializing in high-quality short-form videos highlighting disability lifestyle and awareness. In addition, I’m also a DEIA (diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility) Keynote Speaker and a disabled model. I’m most proud of the online platform I have built, as it serves as an empowerment tool and a How-To guide for disability.

How do you define success?
I define success as the impact something is having on the world. I continue to show up online because I’m not just trying to leave a positive impact but a long-lasting one.
