Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Nell.

Hi Amy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell readers some of your backstories.
I have been in the graphic design and marketing field for over 20 years. Two years ago, I was planning my nephew’s baby shower. After designing a unique theme for the invitations, I realized how hard it was to find matching items for the entire party. I could find odd items on Etsy and Pinterest but it

Didn’t match exactly and ordering from so many different vendors was expensive. That is where the idea of A Bash in a Box was born. An on-line party planning place where a tired mom could go and either pick a theme or have one designed, get everything she needs to throw a great party all delivered to her door.

We launched Abashinabox.com in October of 2021 with our birthday parties knowing the winter months would be slow with the holidays. This gave us a chance to work out all kinks and upload all the extras for the parties and launch baby, bridal showers, graduation and gender reveals before spring.

We have been overwhelmed by requests to do local event planning and décor so we have launched Bash Events as well where we can handle the entire event planning for you or just handle the décor.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a long process. I wanted to make sure everything was done right and not rush the site to go live. The biggest struggle was the sheer quantity of what needed to be designed. For every theme there is 15-20 items that we want to be unique down to the smallest detail.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
This first year we are focused on getting as many themes uploaded as possible to give the buyer many choices for their party themes. We also have the option to create a custom theme for them, the buyer can email our designers and we will custom design a party for them.

Creative and professional melds together for me. I believe each stage of my professional life has brought me to this business. I have worked as a Designer for many years, moving into a Creative Director position then Digital Brand Manager, I have honed my marketing and digital skills to make an online business work. I believe all of my roles have brought me to BASH and I plan to make abashinabox.com the premier on-line party planning platform and BASH Events the premiere event planning/décor company in the Kansas City area.

What does success mean to you?
At this stage in my life, it has morphed. I am 51 and starting a new chapter in my life, after working very hard my entire life to make other companies successful. I define success in living my life by design. Waking up and going to bed everyday happy. Loving what you do and being able to make a living doing it. Making a difference in other people’s lives, one party at a time.
