Meet Aaron Hodges of SweatπŸ’¦House Fitness I

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Hodges.

Hi Aaron, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, as you stated my name is Aaron Hodges. I’m an entrepreneurial fitness trainer. It’s actually kinda funny because I recently, like since this interview 2 weeks ago first happened I rebranded my business. I switched from “fuseFITness” which I was for years after leaving “hodgebody” behind to finally arrive a week ago at Sweat x House Fitness. I made the switch for a lot of different reasons(maybe for a different interview) and I’ve been through a lot figuring out just exactly what my brand is etc. Though I’m still developing it, It’s definitely headed in the right direction.

As far as I go, I’ve been in the fitness space for 9 maybe 10 years+. I spent 6 years with the Title Boxing Club Franchise which took me from Kansas City to both coasts. (Shoutout to my dude Cam Andrews [@cam_aka_killa]Β in Boston,Β MA owner of Title Boxing Club Newbury St.) I’ve been a trainer for years but only buckled down to take things seriously really turning this thing into a business since having my 2 blessings MΓa and RemΓ with my beautifulΒ wife Kelly.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A smooth road? It has been all but that. For years, I didn’t understand the business side of the fitness industry.

I ran around for a long time thinking β€œHey, I’ve got killer abs. This should be easy booking clients and make a ton of money just by running around with my shirt off”, WRONG! Couldn’t be further from the truth. Though there may have been some I booked that way it definitely isn’t a sound business plan.

Then there are the natural ups and downs of business in general. Especially from the entrepreneurial side. I’ve never had a solid β€œjob”. You know, perform XYZ tasks and you’re guaranteed a set paycheck, guaranteed a certain lifestyle. I don’t know that life. Its been real uncomfortable at times but God has ALWAYS seen me through.

Building a business from the ground up can be rough. Not knowing what’sΒ next, insufficient resources, the everyday-ness of it, theΒ I just want to create dope workouts for people but now I gotta do all this other stuff too, of it. (Haha)

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Sweat x House Fitness?
What I do in the fitness space is provide a different than usual type of workout that specializes in 3 major areas. Burning Fat, Building Muscle, & Developing a Strong Heart. My workouts aren’t the type of workouts to keep you in the gym for hours on hours just to see results.

They’re efficient and effective. Though every workout isn’t some grueling,Β barely alive afterward type session, I do strongly believe intensity matters, and that intensity looks different for everyone. No matter beginner or advanced my workouts can be modified to suit whoever.

I would say what sets me apart is the creativity in which each workout is layered or stacked together with movements, reps, sets, etc. My workouts are far from your typical 3 sets of 10 squats and on to the next.

I’ve partnered with AMP PerformanceΒ Gym in Lees Summit, MO (Shoutout to Austin PaceΒ @austinpaceamp & Chris PiedmonteΒ @chrispiedmontepga)Β where I’m running my exclusive sessions of Core x Sweat Every Tues & Thurs 7 AM & 5:30 PM Saturdays at 8 AM. Come See Me! 4 NE Skyline Dr, Lees Summit, MO.

I’m also using this space to shoot the content for my OnDemand workout platform coming to my siteΒ sweathousefitness.netΒ There you’ll be able to subscribe to Exclusive LIVE & OnDemand workouts. Check out my Instagram page to really see what I’m aboutΒ @fitboyhodge. I post tons of FREE content there.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Honestly, I don’t believe in luck. I believe God is ordering my steps as a result of me submitting myself to Jesus Christ. That doesn’t mean it’s always sunshine and roses though. We have to go through things to grow and to be able to handle whatever’s waiting on the next level.
