Life & Work with Vincent Guerrero of North Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Guerrero.

Hi Vincent, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Proud husband and Father of 4, two daughters in college, son in High school and youngest in 3rd grade. I was born and raised in Kansas City, KS the Argentine district to be exact. I am very proud of where I came from and also proud of the accomplishments thus far.

I didn’t plan on a career in glass it kinda picked me. About 24 years ago, I answered a newspaper ad for a warehouse job packaging and shipping storefront materials. During a break, I asked the future branch manager what he did and told him I wanted to do that someday. That simple conversation changed everything.

I moved into customer service, then quickly worked my way through project management, estimating, and office management within five years. After that, I spent over a decade on the commercial glass contracting side, building experience and strong relationships.

In 2018, I partnered with a couple of trusted allies to start MAC Glass. We began in an empty warehouse with just a picnic table and a laptop, but a clear vision and strong work ethic.

Today, eight years later, we have a team of 13 and solid partnerships with respected local general contractors. We have earned our place in the glass and glazing industry and are still growing naturally and organically by design.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road, politics with potential suppliers of glass and aluminum caused some roadblocks but perseverance and pressure led to that being a blessing in disguise.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m the Vice President and part owner of MAC Glass. We specialize in commercial glass and glazing, everything from storefront systems to full project management and installation. I’ve come up through every level of the business, so I understand how a job needs to run from start to finish, not just on paper but out in the field where it really matters.

What we’re known for is being reliable and easy to work with. We do what we say we’re going to do, we communicate, and we take care of problems instead of passing them along. In this industry, that goes a long way. Accountability is key.

What I’m most proud of is building MAC Glass from nothing. We started in an empty warehouse with a picnic table and a laptop, and now we have a strong team and solid relationships with some of the most respected general contractors in the area. That didn’t happen by accident.

What sets me apart is experience and perspective. I’ve done the warehouse work, customer service, estimating, project management, and operations. I know where things can go wrong and how to keep them on track. At the end of the day, I take a lot of pride in doing things the right way and building something that lasts, not just projects, but relationships too.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The best way to work with me is to just reach out and start a conversation. We partner closely with general contractors, developers, and business owners on commercial glass projects, and we’re always open to new relationships.

If you’re looking for a team that’s responsive, straightforward, and takes ownership from start to finish, that’s where we fit in. Whether it’s budgeting a project early, helping value engineer, or executing in the field, we like being involved and adding value wherever we can.

Collaboration for us is all about trust and communication. The better we can work together upfront, the smoother the project goes for everyone.

And honestly, support comes down to relationships. Referrals, repeat work, and even just keeping us in mind when opportunities come up go a long way. We’ve grown our business on that, and we don’t take it lightly.
