Life & Work with Tyler Minor of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Minor.

Hi Tyler, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My Name Is Tyler Grey Minor Born August 27th 1991, From Lawrence, Kansas. To be honest I started making music originally when i was 12 years old with friends leaving Deerfield Elementary School when we were walking home or riding the school bus, or local transit bus. I was able to freestyle 2 bars at a time, make beats with out mouths beatboxing or banging on windows and seats, we would do single round rap battles in the hallways that next year when I was at west Jr high middle school the warhawks, and I joined a film class for a semester called whats up west, My mom and my dad always allowed me to make my own choices in life as long as it was optimistic and positive, i made a lot of wrong choices in my life which lead to a lot of legal issues and trouble that followed me for a long time so I learned to balance both worlds my past and my future while im I am in my presence. So long story short me being creative as a kid to a early teen to battling adulthood as a labeled criminal opened up doors for many things as in reality television star, rap artist, rap producer, adult film star, semi pro basketball, sous chef, rough framing carpenter, 5K, 15K Forklift Operator, Osha 10 Hour Construction, General Automotive Technician, Tire and Lube Technician, food inspections, food safety, crane Operator 15K, rigging, surveying, almost had my first child, a lot of platonic relationships with different woman, getting baptized by velocity church of Lawrence, Kansas, a lot of minor setbacks a lot of certifications, kansas city, kansas community College student unfinished, list keeps going and all I can say is I love my past as much as everyone else should love their’s.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it was not a smooth ride, this journey came with a lot of pressure, most definitely was battling demons in hell to get to where I am today for sure constant run ins with law enforcement, court dates, not having a vehicle for a long time, walking 5 miles to get home every night after getting off at 4:00 am in the morning, physical altercations, these doors did not open on there own catching flights to California, sleepless nights, feeling like the whole world was against me at one upon a time

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am most known as Tuna Tyler on TLC’s My Strange Addiction, world wide famous but in my hometown I am known as Teezy aka T Money, a hustler funny outgoing personality but the other alter ego i had been working on for about 2- 5 years now was Ty Syama the rap artist, I am most proud of my certifications because those mean a lot more to knowing people thought because I got famous I didnt come from a rough background, made mistakes, and most definitely did not give it my everything, i put blood sweat and tears into my dreams and thats what sets me apart is you can hear the ambition in my voice you can feel empathetic to my lyrics, its just a whole vibe that can’t be copied or studied by another artist,
