Hi Tim, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Everything Quotes began with a simple belief: a few well-chosen words can change the way we see a moment, a problem, or ourselves.
As a photographer, I have spent much of my career paying attention to people, emotions, and the small things that reveal something larger. Quotes felt connected to that. They are little pieces of human experience passed from one person to another.
Most quote sites felt cluttered and dated, so I wanted to build something more thoughtful. We now have a searchable collection of roughly 250,000 quotes, organized around themes like resilience, belonging, kindness, calm, and growth.
We launched Everything Quotes in July 2026, and we are still at the beginning. The goal is to create a place where people can find words, stories, and ideas that help them through life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Everything Quotes was an idea I had about 15 years ago, I tried building it then and ran into a lot of technical difficulties. Also, at the time my kids arrived and they needed a lot of my time. So, the project sat until this last year, I was fortunate enough to get introduced to John Baranski from Maple Leaf Technology and it took off from there. John had the experience to do all of the database and backend work that I wasn’t able get going on my own.
This lets me be able to focus on creating content, shaping the brand, managing the business side, and trying to grow an audience from the ground up.
I think the main lesson has been to keep moving without needing everything to be perfect. We are still refining the site, learning what people respond to, and building one piece at a time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I have worked as a photographer for most of my career, mainly in commercial, editorial, and design-driven work. I have always been interested in more than just making something look good. Sharing a story or meaningful concept is important to me.
That same approach carries into Everything Quotes. The site brings together photography, writing, design, curation, and storytelling. I am especially interested in finding ideas that are impactful to the viewer and hopefully improve their life.
What I am most proud of is building something that feels useful and personal at the same time. There are plenty of places to find quotes, but I think what sets Everything Quotes apart is the clean layout, the curation of the quotes and the upcoming content like essays, meditation, book reviews and apparel. The goal is not just to give people something to post. It is to help them find words that actually meet them where they are.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
With Everything Quotes, I have not had a formal mentor. Instead, I have shared the idea with anyone I thought had relevant experience and asked for their honest input. Just as importantly, I have asked who they might know who could help.
I have found that most people are genuinely happy to share what they have learned or make an introduction. That has probably been the most useful form of networking for me—being open about what I am building, asking specific questions, and following the connections from there.
