Life & Work with Tiff Sings of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiff Sings

Hi Tiff, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Three years ago, I stepped onto the Kansas City music scene, not knowing it would change my life. It all started when someone invited me to an open mic at The Parlor. At first, I was hesitant, but something in me said, Why not?

When the host called my name, nerves hit me hard. I chose to sing “Diary” by Alicia Keys, and as soon as I started, something magical happened. The crowd locked in with me, captivated by every note. Before I knew it, the whole room was singing and vibing along. In that moment, I knew I had found what was missing.

I kept coming back every week, unknowingly becoming a crowd favorite. People started posting me on social media, and within just two months, venues began sliding into my DMs to book me for gigs. I quickly put a band together, and soon enough, I was performing all over Kansas City.

Looking back, I’m in awe of how far I’ve come—from an unknown artist from STL to being named Best Female Vocalist in KC. Now, I get to do what I love, singing across the city and sharing my voice with the world.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like any journey, there have been challenges along the way. One of the biggest struggles I faced was losing band members. Whether it was due to personal reasons, scheduling conflicts, or different visions for the music, it was tough to keep rebuilding.

Each time I lost a band member, it felt like I was starting over. There were moments of frustration and uncertainty, but I refused to let setbacks stop me. I kept going, kept networking, and kept pushing forward. Every challenge taught me resilience and reminded me that my passion for music was bigger than any obstacle.

Through it all, I’ve learned that the right people will align with your journey at the right time. Now, I’m surrounded by musicians who believe in the vision just as much as I do, and that makes all the difference.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a vocalist and performer who brings authenticity, passion, and soul to every stage I step on. What sets me apart is that I am unapologetically myself—I don’t just sing; I invite my audience into every moment, every song, and every performance. I put my heart into every note, creating an experience that allows people to feel, connect, and vibe with me.

One of my proudest accomplishments is being awarded Best Female Vocalist at the 2024 Kansas City People’s Choice Awards. That recognition meant so much because I’m not from Kansas City and it came from the people who have supported me from the very beginning. That’s love!

Beyond performing, I’ve expanded my artistry by launching my own production company, 4Sistas Productions LLC. I have successfully put on three productions and am currently working on my fourth. This journey has been incredible, and I’m excited for what’s ahead!

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Finding a mentor and networking effectively comes down to showing up, building real relationships, and staying authentic. I started by consistently attending open mics, industry events, and supporting other local artist , which helped me gain visibility and credibility. I connected with people naturally by being open to learning and absorbing wisdom from those ahead of me. Social media also played a big role—when others posted my performances, it led to bookings and new opportunities. Networking isn’t just about making contacts; it’s about genuinely supporting others and allowing connections to grow organically. Staying professional, passionate, and true to myself has opened doors and built a strong community around my music.
