Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Cozadd.
Hi Samantha, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I really got into makeup when I was a freshman in high school (so about five years ago). I was always so fascinated with YouTube and all of the makeup tutorials, and I would say that’s where it all started. When I was 15, I did my first big group of ladies for a Gala. This event was really my first time that I thought, “wow- I really enjoy doing this and the way it makes me feel.” After that, everything started to snowball into place. Word of mouth truly is an amazing thing!
I never thought that I would do makeup and hair as my career, but I’m so glad that I trusted my gut to do something that truly fuels my fire. I found my passion in makeup, making myself feel my best, and later on making others feel that way as well.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I can thankfully say that it has been quite smooth road for me so far. I have always had a very professional and mature personality since I was young, and I think that helped me immensely with my social media presence, as well as making connections.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in making people look and feel beautiful. I am a freelance makeup artist, so I just love any chance to glam someone up. I do lots of weddings, special events, and the occasional editorial work in-between. I am known for my effortless and romantic bridal makeup looks- keeping my clients looking like themselves but the best version for their most memorable day.
I feel like I am set apart from other artists in many ways. I love creating personal relationships with my clients to make them feel the most comfortable on days that can be stressful to prepare for! When a bride or client sits in my chair, they can feel a sense of relief from any stress and to just relax while being pampered. I am a laid-back artist who always has your best interest, and I take pride in that.
What’s next?
I’m unsure about the future, as I always try to live in the moment. I look forward to expanding my beauty business, skill set and also creating a life that I have always envisioned for myself. A goal of mine is to be able to book multiple destination weddings a year out of the states and maybe even move out of Kansas in the next five years. I absolutely love traveling!
