Life & Work with Rayna Vogan of St. Joseph

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rayna Vogan.

Hi Rayna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I graduated from Missouri Western State University and started at my first graphic design job in St. Joseph, MO. From there I worked at a sign shop which gave me the opportunity to learn about project management and expand my knowledge in graphics and the sign industry. I became the sign project manager at Mosaic Life Care as a contractor in 2014 when they rebranded their hospitals and clinics. Since then I have continued to facilitate their sign projects with each company I have worked for throughout the years. They are my largest client to date and I am the only sign contractor they use for ADA signage and installation.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Finding the right vendors and suppliers to deliver high-quality signage was a bit of a challenge at first. I wanted to make sure the equipment not only produced great results but also ran smoothly and efficiently. Eventually, we purchased our own equipment to ensure the best products were produced.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a graphic designer and project manager. I design business cards to multi-piece interior and exterior signage. We specialize in digitally printed products, ADA signage, wide-format printing, project management and installation.
I am most proud to work on any projects that include installation. I have designed and installed signage for Mosaic Life Care, Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Gray Manufacturing, golf courses, restaurants, hair salons & much more!
The quality of work we provide sets my company apart by the communication and skills we provide. From start to finish I ensure every detail of the project is addressed and I personally take the time to get to know the client and their specific needs. Most of the time I also deliver or install the project myself!

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The goal is to build lasting relationships with other businesses and create returning clients through repeat projects. We’re focused on meeting the needs of companies nationwide while continuing to expand our online presence — with the ambition of growing to the level of brands like VistaPrint or Canva.
