Life & Work with Margie Kay of Independence

Today we’d like to introduce you to Margie Kay.

Hi Margie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started in broadcasting at age 17 when I took a course in communication at North Kansas City High School, and became the DJ during lunch break. I played current music and made comments between songs, but the most interesting thing was learning how to use the equipment. I was also a musician and played professionally for 20 years. While performing, I became comfortable on stage in front of audiences, which gave me the confidence I needed to do public speaking. After writing several books and speaking at conferences and meetings for many years. I decided to start my own radio shows in 2003, and hosted two shows, “Quest,” which focused on paranormal phenomena, and “The Hearth and Home Show.” which covered home maintenance, on KCXL 1140 AM in Kansas City for five years. After a break, I was asked to do a podcast on the KGRA digital radio network in 2012 and learned the business while there for three years. Digital radio was more appealing because I could reach a wider audience, and eventually, I decided to start my own network with multiple shows. We launched on October 31, 2021, with seven shows. My producer and I chose that date since we focus on paranormal phenomena, UFOs, Cryptids, and hauntings. My show was called Un-X News until recently, when I changed it to the Margie Kay Show due to the fact that I have become a minor celebrity in the business, and my team convinced me that it would be much better. I now have fans worldwide, and we distribute to all digital radio platforms, three YouTube channels, and Rumble. We expanded the network to 25 shows with two producers/engineers, a magazine editor, a blog writer/editor, and several volunteers. I handle the marketing and business side of the operation.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been a lot of challenges growing the network and my following. YouTube has been the biggest problem because its algorithms catch words they don’t like, then give me a warning that they may take the channel down. Facebook has also been a major problem because they have taken my page down completely without explanation, and I had to start over with a new page.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am an accomplished remote viewer and have helped solve over 70 missing person, homicide, and theft cases for law enforcement and private investigators. I became a licensed private investigator in Missouri and teach remote viewing. In the past 30 years, I’ve done over 4,000 private readings for individuals, which involve looking inside the human body to find issues that may need attention. Most people call me a medical intuitive, but it goes beyond that since I can remote view inside vehicles or machinery to find where problems exist, find missing items, and more. These abilities are the primary reason I write books, do public speaking, and produce my podcast.

What does success mean to you?
Success to me is the ability to make a positive difference in people’s lives and bring them the information they crave.
