Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Thornton.
Joshua, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It’s really not that entertaining or complex of a story. I just got to a point in my life where I wanted to be my own boss.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely has not been a smooth road. My main struggle has been client acquisition. Mostly because a steady stream of clients is not a guaranteed thing. Now of course AI is an even bigger struggle.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an artist. The core of what I do is create artwork. I never wanted to limit myself on what type of art to create so I’ve always been open to different projects. I love designing and creating logos for businesses as well as graphics for apparel. Redrawing portraits is another form of art I’ve done a lot of. Taking a photograph and remixing it into an event poster, a t shirt graphic or even a custom calendar. In my opinion, that’s what sets me apart from others. I’m not just a graphic designer. I’m more of an artist that dabbles in graphic design.
What matters most to you? Why?
My family matters most. My wife and daughter are my best friends, and I’m deeply blessed to have the fun, goofy, and unconditional love we share every single day.
