Today we’d like to introduce you to Huda Alkhatib.
Hi Huda, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Al-Huda Photography began in the most humble and unexpected way — with me holding my phone, capturing moments simply because I loved freezing time. I was always drawn to the little details: the smiles that came naturally, the quiet emotions people didn’t realize they were showing, the beauty in everyday moments with family and friends. Photography was never a plan at first; it was just something that felt right to my heart.
Everything changed when my family gifted me my first camera. That moment felt like they were seeing something in me before I fully saw it in myself. With that camera came confidence, purpose, and a new way of expressing emotions I couldn’t always put into words. I spent countless hours learning, practicing, making mistakes, and falling more in love with the process each time I pressed the shutter.
As I shared my work, friends began to notice. They encouraged me, believed in me, and kept telling me, “You should start a business.” Their words stayed with me, slowly turning doubt into courage. What once started as a simple passion grew into a dream supported by the people I love most.
Al-Huda Photography is more than just a business to me — it is a reflection of my journey, my growth, and my heart. Every session carries meaning, trust, and connection. I strive to create a space where people feel comfortable, seen, and valued, so their true emotions can shine through. This brand was built on love, support, and faith — and every photo I take is a reminder of where it all began and why I continue.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Starting Al-Huda Photography was not easy, and the journey came with many struggles that shaped who I am today. In the beginning, I doubted myself constantly — wondering if I was good enough, if people would take me seriously, and if I could truly turn my passion into something real. I was learning everything on my own, making mistakes, comparing myself to others, and sometimes feeling discouraged when growth felt slow, until this day.
I know, I don’t have the best equipment, the biggest platform, or the confidence I needed, but I have determination. Building Al-Huda Photography meant stepping out of my comfort zone — charging for my work, putting myself out there, handling criticism, and believing in my value even when results weren’t immediate.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Working at Northeast High as a registrar has been a truly meaningful part of my journey. I genuinely enjoy being there every day and having the opportunity to support students as they work toward their goals. Whether it’s helping them stay on track, guiding them through important processes, or simply being someone they can rely on, I take pride in knowing my role plays a small part in helping them move closer to the dreams they want to achieve.
In addition to my role as a registrar, I also enjoy capturing moments at some school events through photography. Being able to combine my love for photography with my work at the school allows me to preserve special memories while celebrating students’ achievements and milestones. Supporting students both behind the scenes and through the lens is something I truly value, and it makes my time at Northeast High even more rewarding
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
People are often surprised when I tell them that I run my business using a Canon EOS Rebel T6. Many expect professional photography to require the newest or most expensive equipment, but my journey has shown me that it’s not about the camera — it’s about the vision, patience, and heart behind it. The Rebel T6 has been with me through learning, growth, and countless sessions, and it’s proof that passion and skill matter more than gear. I take pride in creating meaningful, high-quality work with what I have, and every photo reflects the dedication I pour into my craft.
