Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Franklin.
Hi Greg, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started making cheesecake as a hobby. As a hobby a built a small delivery route. I took a variety of cheesecakes to local businesses for employees to purchase. After losing my job on National cheesecake day we opened our first location. During the COVID shutdown we added a food truck to be able to serve people outside. We recently relocated to a different town and expanded into a lunch menu..
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. Equipment breaks down on a regular basis. We have to keep up with new trends and keep customers attention. Ingredients cost fluctuating create a challenge with our product pricing. There are so many factors that determine whether we will have a busy day or a slow day.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We create small batch cheesecakes and other baked goods. We also craft a delicious array of lunch items from sandwiches to salads to homemade chicken and dumplings made from an old family recipe.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
