Life & Work with Floice Kemp of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Floice Kemp.

Hi Floice, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
What do I know a out photography? Back in 2021, I was asked to manage the social media account for the company I worked for. “Oh take a few photos, write a newsletter no big deal” my boss down played. It evolved into so much more than that. After six months I moved into a new position but I missed managing a camera. Armed with a bargain bin camera, I started my “Professional Photographer” journey.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been around the block a few times now but to this day I still struggle with Imposter syndrome. Photography/Videography has the potential to have an insanely low entry fee especially with accessibility to AI. So having your rate and pitching it to a client there will always be that sliver that you’re going to get laughed out of the room. How do you overcome it? Know your client, tailor to their needs, don’t cave just to make a sale and if they can’t understand that then they weren’t interested in your service anyway. They just want a deal.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Photography and Videography
I’m known for going the extra mile to tell my customers story. Just tell me your desired goal and I will do the rest. One of my favorite return customers left a review saying: “With Kilo you don’t have to micromanage. You tell him what you want and where to be and he’ll do the rest and then some. Photos, verticals for reels, artistic edits, he does it all”.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
