Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Moore.
Hi Eddie, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was brought to music by way of my parents. My Dad, a music enthusiast and Mom, a successful touring vocalist. I started playing piano the traditional way with private lessons, and though my time listening to Hip-hop and Neo-Soul made me more interested in playing improvised music. Two music degrees later, I felt it was my time to contribute to the culture and released my debut record, “The Freedom of Expression”. Touring, recording, producing, and teaching have become the dream I live.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. The biggest struggle was just believing in myself and not listening to other people. Finding the right people that would support my growth and want to grow too.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a musician! I specialize in piano; however, I am known as a producer, art curator, and educator. I am just proud that I am able to create for a living and my music stands the test of time. I think that’s what sets me apart from others, just my willingness to embrace all around me and take chances creatively.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
The internet is a power tool and source. I remember a time without it, and I very grateful it is at our fingertips. YouTube is your best friend, and Google fiber is your favorite car!
