Life & Work with Drew Thompson of Kansas City

Today we’d like to introduce you to Drew Thompson.

Hi Drew, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’’ve always had a passion for music and videography. I started producing music when I was around 16 years old, and over the years I became good friends with people in the music industry, I’ve written songs for some of those people. I’ve always had a strong drive to do what I dreamed of, and it has led me to music placements, filming music videos, creating music of my own and fulfilling some of my dreams. Today I still produce music and also operate a video production company.. it’s brought me to many places across the world, such as Medellin Colombia, the Dominican Republic and São Paulo Brazil. You can also find me on social media, and my music on Spotify, YouTube and Apple Music: @ApexKrown

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was not always a smooth road, in the beginning I had to save up a lot money for recording and video equipment, people doubt you, and sometimes there’s just simply people that don’t like what you’re doing. But whatever you have in your mind and your dreams, you always try your best to fulfill those, I never want to regret anything, so I always give it my best effort. Now I’ve worked with some famous artists as well as some unknown international artists.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a music producer, songwriter and videographer. I am known for being a key ingredient in music production, songwriting and visuals. The thing I am most proud of is just being the person people can count on to deliver. My biggest accomplishment in the music industry so far is working with the California based artist Berner and Houston’s Paul Wall. I also have a great friendship with rockband Sevendust’s frontman LJ Witherspoon. What sets me apart from others is that I am humble, I don’t boast or brag…I let my work and results speak for themself.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Family, the people in my life that I love, and connection matter most to me. Because in a world full of people who act indifferent to everything, being kind, connection, loyalty and trust are what keeps me driving forward. Effort is something I value.
