Life & Work with Ashten Ray

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashten Ray.

Hi Ashten, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been making music for as long as I can remember, but I started taking music on a serious level back in August 2019. I released a couple of songs through the 2019/2020 years to help me cope over a death of a friend. In the end of 2020, I was at the point of my musical career of giving up. I wasn’t seeing any growth and having a hard time making music that I truly loved enough to release until the day I ran into Tech N9ne. Tech gave me the confidence to keep going and that anything is possible. We now have a song together called “Convenient” and another one on the way on his upcoming album.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It defiantly has not been a smooth road. Music is the biggest emotional roller coaster there is. Going from between being so in love with a song or melody to completely hating it and trashing it. I’ve had so many amazing memories with music but so many rough nights!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Pop Singer/Songwriter. What sets me apart with my music is how versatile I am with my releases!

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned with my journey is to keep going. Never give up and to keep your mind positive.
