Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Larson.
Hi Andrea, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have had a lifestyle blog for over nine years! I started blogging as a stay at home mom when my kids were little as a way to interact with others and to fulfill the creative side of my brain! A few years ago, I decided to become more active on social media (specifically Instagram), and have since worked with several brands on ad campaigns, worked with several local businesses, connected with like-minded people, and grown my blog!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I have made the mistake in the past of caring too much about what others think. I regret not “selling” myself and my work earlier because of fear of how it would be perceived. Several years ago, I threw that mentality out the window and fully opened myself up and am now totally comfortable sharing my day to day life with so many strangers!
Other challenges include wanting to do all the things as a SAHM while also wanting to work from home and finding that balance.
I am a self-taught blogger/instagrammer/social media influencer. There is no manual when it comes to this type of work. I have learned so much along the way, but it’s not always been easy. The need to feel “on” and “creative” all the time can sometimes take its toll!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I consider myself a part-time blogger/content creator/influencer/life sharer!
Most of my work is sharing day to day lifestyle…recipes, travel, home decor, projects, shopping deals/finds, Kansas City, ad campaigns, and family life. I’m also a huge plant lady, and I know many people follow for plant content. I’m down to earth, an open book, and keep it real!
I am proud of the fact that this first started as a hobby and now I can say it is a part-time job!
Age and life experience set me apart! I am 41 years old (old in the influencer world 🙂 ), and am proud to be representing those of us in that age bracket! I also have older kids, which brings a different perspective to family and mom life.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Just start! And be yourself! I wish I would have put myself out there earlier! Don’t worry about what everyone else thinks. Be confident in who you are! The world needs what you want to put out!
