Today we’d like to introduce you to Anaira Rivera
Hi Anaira, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Since I was a little girl my passion for arts and story telling thru video and photography filled me with happiness and joy. An island girl from Puerto Rico born in New York had a-lot to learn about loving herself and used this as a way to learn not only about myself but inspire others to do the same.
Everywhere I went I would carry my instant camera which allowed me to capture moments that were meaningful and told a story.
When myspace was around I would gather images and tell a story thru these meaningful images.
I would add music and a message that would complete the story.
Soon I would grow up and that passion would slowly be placed away as other things would spark my interest. I graduated college and obtained my degree in Microbiology. Little did I know pursuing a career in the field of study was far from reality as life was busy working my 9-5 in whatever would help make ends meet.
By then I married, was blessed to become a mother and years later divorced.
Years later I married my high school best friend, we knew eventually we wanted to grow our little family of three. Little did I know growing our little family would become a challenge due to health reasons. To our surprise in 2019 we were expecting. I was hopeful and filled with joy and happiness of becoming a mother again. What we didn’t know is that this pregnancy would place me in a life or death situation. And a sudden rush to the ER would later become a reality that I could not understand. The loss of a child and parts of my womb would soon become memories.
I saw life from a different perspective. Life was now was about healing surviving, loving myself again and focusing on my blessings and being the best mother to my oldest son.
Two years passed by and to our surprise life would bless us with our little rainbow baby.
A miracle baby, becoming a mother again was exciting, scary and once again new.
My husband and I made the decision for me to stay home and raise our baby. Be present and cherish these moments of motherhood.
I wanted to not only care for our baby but have the opportunity to bring extra income to our home. That is when my entrepreneur journey began.
Caring for our miracle baby and having that time again was like life giving me that chance to pursue what inspires the most. Capturing life’s moments thru video and photography was once again coming back after all these years placed away.
My creative mind, my desire to inspire others thru creating content in the hair, beauty, self-love, self-care and mom life.
spaces was exciting for me. Social media is a way for me to share who I am. A way to inspire others by creating content that resonates and share what tips I know with others.
Creating content has given me the opportunity to not only have a community and social media friends but also work and develop relationships with brands in the hair, beauty and fashion industries.
My goal is to continue to inspire my community and others with my story and let them know that matter the struggles you might have in life, keep going.
And have the opportunity to develop relationships and work with more brands all while being authentically me.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been an easy road but I have learned along the way that being consistent, being authentically yourself and having a community of friends makes the road easier. Being an entrepreneur takes time and I continue to grow each day and learn to be better. Most important have fun.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an entrepreneur and content creator focused in the hair beauty self-care and lifestyle. I create user generated content and content for brands. This content can be organic content in video or photography form for their social media or for an ad. I also love capturing self portraits. I am most proud of the relationships I have built with various brands and my community. I create content that inspires others from a simple hairstyle to relatable mom life events.
What sets me apart is I am genuine, relatable and have learned to allow my personality to shine thru my content.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
There are many mentors and resources out there. In the beginning of my content creator journey I joined groups that shared the same interest. This was helpful as it allowed me to learn from others by understanding content creation. And the ins and out of the industry. And also collaborating with brands.
Even though I am self taught,
never be shy to ask questions or network with others within your field. And never give up.
