Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Beal.
Hi Victoria , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi! My name is Victoria Beal. I grew up in a smaller town outside of KC, Smithville MO, I lived there most of my life with my parents and 3 siblings. I always had a passion for makeup, from doing my sisters prom makeup, or dance competitions, or even practicing on myself but didn’t make it a career until my dad asked “your obsessed with doing makeup, why not makeup it into a career”. That’s what led me into finding esthetics. In 2019 I found a school in Lawrence,KS and began classes in 2020. I graduated with my license in September of 2020 and began my own business- Victorias Beauty and Skin at Salon 708. I later got my instructors license in esthetics in 2021 and my manicuring license in 2022. I always had a dream to work for myself and found a salon in Lawrence to call home. I celebrate my 5 years in the salon this October! I do anything from facials, lashes, brows, bridal makeup, body waxing to manicures and pedicures!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s always tough owning your own business from it never being consistent at the beginning and moving to a new city knowing no one! Starting my business during the pandemic was the toughest part- but I was determined to keep it going!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I offer a range of services custom facials, body, waxing specializing in Brazilians, lashes, specializing in lash lifts and tints, manicures and pedicures.
On the side during the weekends, I also do wedding make up for brides and the bridal party!
What sets me apart from others is the connections I have with clients- I love getting to know my clients beyond just what they are using at home for the skincare. Although I love chatting with my clients, I also want my space to feel calm and inviting so clients can enjoy a spa day to relax!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The best- there’s some great restaurants around KC!
The worst- our football team (not a chiefs fan)
