Today we’d like to introduce you to Shana R. Puckett.
Hi Shana R., it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hello! I am Shana R. Puckett, a holistic healer, leadership facilitator, and founder of Wayfarer Consulting.
Growing up on my grandparents’ farm in central Illinois, I developed a deep connection to and relationship with the natural world. Throughout high school, university, and my early professional years along Colorado’s Front Range—as well as the past two decades here in Kansas City—that connection has continued to shape my understanding of how honoring our relationship with the natural world supports our shared vitality, community well-being, and everyday lives.
My vocational career pathways have included science education, nonprofit leadership, community development, organizational consulting, and one-on-one coaching. I earned a Masters in Nonprofit Management and subsequently pursued training and certification in spiritual direction, hypnotherapy, and as a shamanic healing practitioner and facilitator.
At the heart of it all, my passion lives at the intersection of personal growth and development (transformation), organizational leadership (strategy, outcomes, and change), and community-wide impact in service of the common good.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, and in many ways, I’m immensely grateful for that. There have been challenges, unexpected twists, and moments when one door opened just as another was closing. I’ve come to deeply appreciate that uncertainty, disruption, and even the obstacles we encounter can be invitations to listen more closely, discover new directions, and find our way toward paths that feel meaningful and alive for us.
During COVID, as organizations reallocated training budgets to address immediate internal needs, demand for outside consultants declined. At the same time, my existing one-on-one clients began referring friends and family members who were seeking additional support. That momentum grew organically, leading me to pivot to a full-time private practice, which I’ve maintained for the past five years.
This shift created an opportunity to deepen my transformational work and incorporate additional modalities into my offerings, which now inform my approach to leadership and organizational development in new and powerful ways.
As you know, we’re big fans of Wayfarer Consulting, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am in private practice as a holistic counselor, supporting individuals in deep personal growth, healing, and transformation across spiritual, emotional, and psychological dimensions.
I also partner with leaders and leadership teams to navigate challenges, move through stuck places, think differently, clarify strategy, translate intentions into meaningful outcomes, and catalyze organizational shifts.
My unique value lies in bridging inner transformation with outer change. I bring together psychological insight, holistic and transformational practices, and organizational leadership experience to help individuals and leaders see beyond familiar patterns, access new perspectives, and unlock possibilities they may not have previously imagined.
Whether working with an individual navigating a personal crossroads or a leadership team facing complex organizational challenges, I create space for deeper awareness, new ways of thinking, and meaningful forward movement. My work integrates the inner dimensions of growth and change with the practical realities of leadership, strategy, and organizational life—helping translate insight into action and transformation into lasting impact.
At the heart of my work is a belief that when we expand our awareness of what is possible, we expand our capacity to create meaningful change—not only in our own lives and organizations, but in the communities and world we serve.
How do you think about luck?
Rather than luck, the words that come to mind for me and impactful in my life are synergy, synchronicity, and convergence – those moments when seemingly separate things come together in meaningful and unexpected ways. When this happens, I’ve found that it helps me see beyond what I thought I knew, opening me to something bigger and revealing possibilities that weren’t visible before.
These moments bring sparks of vitality to life! Sometimes our shifts are internal, sometimes external, and most often, it’s where the two dynamics meet. Whether in my own personal process or in supporting growth in others, what I love most is the organicity and alchemy of it all—the way deep inner shifts in awareness make meaningful outward change possible and beneficial to all!
