Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Melia.

Hi Scott, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Scott Melia. I was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. I recently moved to Las Vegas, NV. I have had a beard for many years but never found a product I loved, so I finally decided to make my beard oils and balms. I experimented with different processes, ingredients, and scents. My passion project quickly grew into The Vikings Beard. We have been in business since 2019 and sell our products in several stores. We also have an online shop on our website.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The Vikings Beard started strong with a lot of momentum in September 2019. We had several successful events and our products in our first brick-and-mortar store. Then March 2020 and COVID came. We were only able to do in-person events or marketing for a while. Luckily we still had our online store open, and we could still make sales. Another silver lining was that many people stuck at home decided to grow beards. Since then, we have expanded our product line and are now in several barber shops.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a small business consisting of myself and my fiancé, Becky Kramer; I am the founder and CEO. Becky is our President of Marketing and handles our vendors, order processing, and social media. I hand-make all of our products myself using all-natural ingredients.

Who else deserves credit for your story?
We have to thank our clients first and foremost. They gave our small business a chance and allowed us to grow. We also have amazing customers who we have built relationships with. We always make sure we go the extra mile for them.
