Hi Samatar, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into home healthcare began five years ago when I was working with my father (who owns a home care in the city as well) . I saw firsthand how overwhelming it can be for families to navigate care—especially when the system feels impersonal or fragmented. That sparked a fire in me. I started small, maybe even naively, with just a handful of caregivers and a relentless focus on treating every client like they were my own family.

Kansas City embraced us because we listened. We grew not by chasing scale, but by earning trust—one patient, one family at a time. Today, my home care is still growing and expanding!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely isn’t easy, but every bump taught me something. Early on, I underestimated how hard it would be to find caregivers who shared our values. I’d hire someone with perfect credentials, only to realize they didn’t have the patience nor heart for this work. Turnover kept me up at night. Then there were the growing pains: balancing cash flow while refusing to cut corners on care, or navigating Missouri’s licensing.
