Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Morris.
Hi Sabrina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi! My name is Sabrina Morris.
I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. I met my husband 11 years ago in Mexico, but it wasn’t until 2016 that we began dating. In August of 2018, I officially closed my Personal Training business in Ottawa, Ontario, and immigrated to Kansas City MO. During the immigration process, there was about a year and a half time-frame that I was unable to work while my visa was processed. Bored and unfulfilled, my husband encouraged me to pursue my long-standing creative passion of photography. Supporting me through it, I purchased some start-up equipment and began my self-taught journey. I never left the house without my gear. Places, people, things. I captured everything I passed and attended. I’d considered the arts since high school, but instead, invested my time and efforts in the Health and Fitness industry. Over the course of a decade, I came to realize my place in the service industry; helping people discover and cultivate a true sense of self-love. I want to help people to feel proud to exist in their own skin. I hope that by working with me, clients feel slightly less stuck-in-the-rut of comparison and envy. We are all beautiful, strong, capable, and loveable beings. I use both of my professional careers to help others recognize that truth about themselves.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth? Anything but.
My transition from Canada has been so far from easy. Packing bags to leave all my friends, family, and business behind in order to take a massive leap of faith has been one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done in my life. Shortly after moving, I found myself at the very heart of a quarter-life crisis. I had no idea who I was without my thriving Personal Training business. Without the networking, I’d devoted myself to for 5 years. Without my deeply-rooted, lifelong relationships. Who was I, and where was I going in life?
I still ask myself this weekly, if not daily. I don’t have all the answers, but what I have figured out is that when I’m connecting with others – I’m exactly where I need to be. And the pressing question of “where do you see yourself in 5, 10 years?” becomes less anxiety-inducing, and honestly, less relevant.
Working closely with others keeps me grounded in my existence and makes this ride (called life) feel so much less rocky. The highs feel super high, but the lows – way less low.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I named my business Full Circle Photography for several reasons. I have an Ensō tattoo on my back and have for many years. An Ensō (zen circle) is a form of Japanese calligraphy. Painted as a daily practice in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes, the Ensō expresses a moment when the mind is free to let the body create. To me, it also symbolizes my camera lenses, through which I aim to bring people’s self-love full circle. We live in a culture ridden with self-criticism, comparison, and scarcity mindset. At birth, and at heart, we are more than enough. By returning to a place of self-love, I believe we have come full circle, back to our origination.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I love to create! I am open to collaboration and fundraising of all sorts. I encourage anyone and everyone to reach out with their ideas and visions!
