Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Caldwell.
Hi Rachel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always known I wanted to be my own boss. It’s just in my blood. Everywhere I have ever worked – I would always jump in, both feet first, sharing my opinions, trying to improve what I saw, constantly brainstorming new concepts – to be honest with you, most of my employers hated it. They didn’t want things to change. And they certainly didn’t want any fresh ideas from a brand new employee. It rubbed people the wrong way.
And I despised being held back. I mean, I wanted to make a difference! After my mom died unexpectedly at the age of 49, everything changed for me. I took some time off from my chosen career to rest and recuperate. I came back into the workforce about a year later with a whole new gig. Much different than what I had done before (I was a mortician), but this time, it was on MY terms! I knew exactly what I needed to do. Being my own boss comes naturally to me. We are in our third year of business and things are booming, to say the least.
So many of our customers now are repeat customers. And a lot of the new ones are referrals. We are so proud of that. We get to work with some amazing companies and non-profits throughout the KC area and we see SO many awesome locations and venues – a lot of times before they are open to the public! And we truly have the best customers ever!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Of course, 2020 was hard for everyone. A service-based company with the sole purpose of entertaining groups of large people? Yes, we struggled but we got through it. We have our customers to thank for that. As a matter of fact, I think it’s why things are going so well now.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see nothing but growth. Especially after 2020, I think people realize now how important it is to be with other people. I hope to stay your margarita machine rental expert forever.
