Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have been passionate about hair since the age of 12, and after graduating high school in 2017, I attended cosmetology school to further develop my skills. In 2020, I discovered my speed and precision as a braider, which inspired me to start a business dedicated to providing high-quality braided styles at affordable prices. My goal has always been to serve single mothers and women throughout the Kansas City, Missouri area who may face financial challenges and cannot afford high salon rates. Through hard work, dedication, and faith in God, I have built my business into what it is today—continuing to offer exceptional service at reasonable prices.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has not been without challenges. My dedication to my business has, at times, strained relationships with friends and family and even created difficulties in my marriage. There have been weeks without a single client, and others with only one appointment booked. Yet, through it all, I have seen the Lord’s hand at work—turning obstacles into opportunities and ensuring that everything works together for my good. As a young entrepreneur, I understand that challenges are inevitable, but I believe in perseverance, faith, and never giving up.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Certified Henna Brows Artist, Hairstylist, and Licensed Braider(5+ years), with additional certification in lash extensions. While I no longer offer lash services, I am widely recognized for my speed and precision in braiding—a skill that sets me apart in the industry. Most braid styles are completed in three hours or less, with crisp parting and neat, polished results. This efficiency is not due to rushing, but rather the skill and technique I have developed over years of experience.

My business is built to give God the glory. Whether we are watching a show, providing you with a break from the busyness of life, or sharing meaningful conversations, my goal is to create an uplifting and enjoyable atmosphere. Many of my clients become like family, and I make it a priority to check in on them throughout the year—whether or not they have booked an appointment. For me, this work is more than a business; it is my ministry.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I appreciate most about my city is the presence of genuine people and the abundance of opportunities available to everyone. There is so much talent here, and it’s inspiring to see the creativity and skills that people bring to the table.

What I find challenging, however, is that not everyone embraces the mindset of “I can win in life too.” At times, jealousy or the emphasis on popularity can overshadow true skill and hard work.
