Today we’d like to introduce you to Miu Edlin.
Hi Miu, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in Thailand, but my journey has taken me all over the world. I graduated from high school in Perth, Australia, and a high school in Bangkok, Thailand, then moved to the U.S. to attend Missouri Western State University, where I earned my degree in marketing and business management. Right out of college, I had the opportunity to step into the role of a marketing director for a local mall. It was there that I helped the mall grow its digital presence and in the process, fell even deeper in love with marketing.
That experience sparked something bigger, so I decided to pursue my master’s degree and work as a graduate assistant at the Center for Entrepreneurship. While there, I trained to become a business facilitator helping local small businesses with everything from business planning to marketing strategy. Around that time, I also bought a franchise and used creative digital marketing to quadruple its net profit, which gave me even more insight into what small businesses truly need to thrive.
After several years working full-time as a business facilitator, I knew it was time to take the leap. In 2022, I founded Miuze Marketing, a boutique digital marketing agency rooted in creativity and built for brands ready to go beyond the boundary. At Miuze, we don’t just think outside the box, we ask if the box even needs to be there. Our work blends strategy with storytelling, helping small businesses and nonprofits show up online in bold, authentic and memorable ways.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Definitely not a smooth road but that’s all part of the journey. Like many business owners, I’ve faced my fair share of challenges. Work-life balance is a constant learning curve, especially when you’re building something from the ground up and pouring your heart into it. In the early days of Miuze, I was wearing all the hats: strategist, designer, account manager, bookkeeper…you name it.
Creating systems and processes that allowed the business to grow without burning out was a big hurdle. And in a market like Kansas City and St. Joseph, where there are already so many marketing agencies, standing out was another challenge. It pushed me to get really clear on what makes Miuze different. Our creativity, our client relationships and our ability to think beyond the boundary.
Hiring and attracting the right people has also been a growing pain. When you care deeply about your work, finding talent that aligns with your vision and values is everything. And then, of course, there’s budgeting and cash flow . The unglamorous side of entrepreneurship that every small business owner can relate to.
But through it all, the wins, big and small, make it worth it. Every client success story, every breakthrough moment, every new idea that comes to life is a reminder of why I started.
We’ve been impressed with Miuze Marketing , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Miuze Marketing is a boutique digital marketing agency based in Kansas City and St. Joseph. We specialize in helping big and small businesses show up online in a way that’s true to who they are… creative, clear, and confident. Our services include social media management, branding, website design, digital strategy and content creation.
What sets us apart is how we blend strategy with soul. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter marketing. Every brand has its own voice and story and our job is to bring that to life in a way that connects with people and gets results. We take the time to truly understand our clients and create work that feels both purposeful and bold.
Miuze is known for creativity that pushes boundaries, but always stays rooted in what works. We’re not just here to make things look good. We’re here to help brands grow. Whether it’s turning a one-woman shop into a powerhouse presence online or helping a nonprofit amplify its impact, we’re proud to be the creative partner behind the scenes.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how people feel when they work with us. We’ve built a brand that’s approachable, fun, professional and smart. That energy shows up in everything we do. We like to say we go beyond the boundary and we mean it. From big-picture strategy to the smallest design detail, Miuze is about helping you dream big and execute even bigger.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
The marketing industry is evolving faster than ever and the next 5–10 years will bring even more transformation, especially with the rise of AI. We’re already seeing how tools like generative AI are changing the way we create content, analyze data, and streamline processes. I don’t see AI replacing marketers, but rather becoming a powerful tool that enhances creativity and strategy when used intentionally.
That said, I believe the brands that will stand out long-term are the ones that know how to balance automation with authenticity. As technology becomes more advanced, human connection and storytelling will become even more important. People are craving realness, and the brands that can communicate with heart and clarity will rise above the noise.
We’ll also see more emphasis on personalization, video content, and immersive digital experiences, especially with the expansion of platforms like TikTok and the growing demand for short-form, behind-the-scenes storytelling. And as privacy regulations continue to evolve, marketers will need to become even more creative and transparent in how we reach and build trust with audiences.
At Miuze, we’re excited about the future. We’re always exploring new tools and tech, but we’re also staying grounded in the belief that bold ideas and meaningful relationships are at the core of great marketing and that’s not changing anytime soon.
