Inspiring Conversations with Linnaea Elton of beautybylinnaea

Today we’d like to introduce you to Linnaea Elton.

Hi Linnaea, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been drawn to helping people feel confident in their own skin, but I didn’t realize it would become my career until I experienced my own struggles with my skin. What started as frustration turned into curiosity, I wanted to understand skin on a deeper level and help others find real, lasting solutions. That led me to esthetics school, and eventually to opening my own business here in Kansas City.

In the beginning, I focused on waxing and brows, but over time my passion for acne and corrective skincare really took off. I invested in advanced training, became Face Reality certified, and started building a space where clients feel seen, educated, and supported in their skin journey.

Now, my business offers everything from acne bootcamp to spray tans, lashes, and permanent jewelry, but my heart is always in helping women feel beautiful and confident without filters. It’s been a mix of hard work, faith, and community support that got me here, and I’m just getting started!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve always struggled with confidence and honestly hated stepping outside of my comfort zone. Starting a business forced me to face that head on. I went from being someone who liked to stay behind the scenes to having to put myself out there talking to clients, showing up on social media, and believing in what I do. There were plenty of times I second-guessed myself or felt completely out of my limits. Every uncomfortable moment pushed me to grow a little more. Looking back now, I’m proud of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve learned to trust myself in this process.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I’m the owner of a skincare studio that focuses on helping people feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. I offer a variety of services from acne treatments, custom facials, and waxing, to spray tans, lash and brow services, and permanent jewelry, but I’m best known for my acne-focused work and how personal I make each client’s experience.

I specialize in corrective skincare and acne bootcamp, where I work closely with clients to clear their skin and rebuild their confidence through education, consistency, and support.

I care deeply about every person who walks through my door. I know what it’s like to struggle with your skin and how much that can affect your self-esteem, so I create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and never judged.

I’m most proud of the community that’s grown around my business. People who trust me not just with their skin, but with their confidence. My brand is about more than beauty; it’s about healing, and growth.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t please everyone. Trying to will only hold you back. In the beginning, I wanted every client to love me, love their results, and never have a single complaint. That kind of pressure isn’t realistic, and it kept me from growing.

I’ve learned that not everyone will understand your vision or your boundaries, and that’s okay. The right people will appreciate your authenticity and the care you put into what you do. Once I stopped trying to be everything for everyone and started staying true to myself and my values, everything got easier. Not only my business, but my confidence and my peace of mind.
