Today we’d like to introduce you to Kylie Seurer.
Hi Kylie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My professional career started in New York. In New York, I was a sales director for a clothing brand, which I loved. It was long hours during the day and showing face to all the events/parties at night. Day after day after day.
For a while, I loved it but realized I wasn’t fulfilled within this position. I needed to be creative, I needed freedom. I didn’t know it at the time, but when I was fired for creating a brand with my best friend, my life was aligned to my true calling. I started working for a high-end, lingerie sex shop called, Narcisse, in Brooklyn.
Here, she not only gave me creativity, but she also gave me passion. I realized I was here to help women be the most confident they can be. I learned that most women have issues within this. Many women are insecure about things that don’t matter or just lack self-confidence altogether.
I needed to change that. Once I became pregnant with my son, the love of my life, I moved back to Kansas City. I tried to feed my passion as much as I could while being a single mom and making enough money for both of us to live. I had created my own brand, Vera, and was bartending to keep food on the table and then BOOM, Covid. With the help of my best friend across the country and the love from my boyfriend in Kansas City, I decided it was time to dive back into my life’s work and start my own business.
Not in lingerie this time but in eyebrows. I honestly did not know I was going to love microblading as much as I do. When Kansas City Microblading was born, I had little knowledge of the microblading world, so I moved to Salt Lake City with my best friend/mentor to learn from the best. There I was trained by the Beautiful Brows, the leading microblader in all of Utah.
Once I graduated, I came back home and KCM was opened to the public, KCM has given me so much joy and I am still fulfilling my passion of improving women’s confidence one brow at a time. I feel beyond blessed and grateful to love going to work each morning. KCM now offers lashes by Annastasia and will offer many more services by the end of 2021! New announcements and expansions coming soon!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
What?? Life is never smooth! Moving back to Kansas City was one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make. I felt as if I was leaving my entire career there and I thought it was going to be impossible to be the mom I wanted to be while succeeding within my career.
But learned how powerful we are as women and we really can do whatever we put our minds to.
As you know, we’re big fans of Kansas City Microblading. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Kansas City Microblading is located in Brookside, MO. I believe my specialty is giving you the most natural brow you can get while being a semi-permanent tattoo. When you leave my chair, you won’t be able to tell the difference between the tattooed hair stroke and your natural hairs!
My personable experience sets me apart from other microbladers. I do not use a template or a stencil, I create a special brow, measured off of your bone structure. That way I give you the best shape, length, and width for your specific face. I am obviously extremely proud of my work and how I make my clients feel when they leave but I’m also proud of the overall atmosphere we’ve created at KCM.
We are a tight-knit family, that includes everyone who works within the salon and all of our clients.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I love throwing events within the community! The most recent event is called “A Positive Saturday”. Brookside Poultry allows KCM to host an event here about every other month. Starts with a guided meditation, a yoga class, a cocktail, and then shopping with multiple local KC brands.
I love setting up booths at other people’s events as well. Anything that brings the community together, I’m IN!
