Inspiring Conversations with Kristine Shilt of Right Side Law

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristine Shilt.

Hi Kristine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I practiced corporate and tax law for 20 years, working with various accounting firms, law firms, and spending over 10 years in the tax department at Sprint/T-Mobile. During Covid, I noticed many people needed legal help to navigate employment issues related to vaccine mandates, but I couldn’t find local attorneys willing to take these cases. That’s when I met my partner Melinda Clark-Sann, and we began assisting individuals facing medical freedom choices. Our desire to help people led us to form Right Side Law, where we focus on these issues along with personal injury cases.

In addition to helping clients, we also devote our time to assisting with supporting legislative changes that address medical and family freedom issues. This involves reviewing language, providing suggestions to proposed bills and occasionally testifying at hearings to educate our legislators on the real life issues that some of our clients face.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The Covid time period was a difficult struggle. Many issues that arose during that period were new issues without any legal precedent. This caused there to be much uncertainty in the outcome of cases and made it difficult to manage the client’s expectations when rulings were coming in all over the board.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a woman owned business that specializes in personal injury law. We are known for our willingness to fight for clients and stand up for what is right rather than treating them like just a number. What sets us apart is that we are locally based and we treat clients on a personal level. They can meet with us face to face rather than being another claim on an out-of-town attorney’s desk. We are proud of our brand which embraces our willingness to be on the right side for our clients. We love being involved with the community and want to be a resource that the community can trust.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I am an avid gardner, raising many vegetables, herbs and flowers each year. My husband and I make spicy homemade pickles that are labeled “the best ever” by everyone who tries them.

Pricing:

  • We work on contingent fees so that clients injured in an accident do not pay anything unless we get a settlement in their case.
