Inspiring Conversations with Jonathan Pitallo of VIVE Brand Co

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Pitallo.

Hi Jonathan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I had been a hustler since a very young age; at 13, I was interested in fixing iPhones for classmates at Belton Middle School. At 15, I started a clothing line called VIVE Brand Co with just 80 dollars. It only took a cotton hoodie, puffy paint, and little iron-on vinyl decals. I began wearing it to school, and many classmates slowly started to ask where I got it, and I told them I had made them; one thing led to another, and I sold over 100+ hoodies at Belton High School during my Sophomore & Junior year. Unfortunately, Covid-19 canceled school, leading to a huge sales decline. I had lots of free time, and it had me thinking, what if I made clothing for others and began to market to restaurants, construction companies, cafes, non-for-profits, event groups, etc., in need of any t-shirts or branding products and after a year of trying to find new clients, it all came full circle and businesses began to contact me for any promo & print products. During the same time, I bought my first rental property and obtained my real estate license.

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was not a smooth road; I struggled to raise capital, especially from a low-income family, so that I couldn’t ask for money. Another area for improvement was not knowing 100% how to make products/run a business. There were many losses and trial and error, but I chose not to give up because I knew it was part of the learning curve.
