Hi John, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
KC Decorative Lights came from a breakfast I had with a good friend who runs a tech company in KC. I had just left my corporate sales position a week prior and was pondering my next move while creating a consulting agency in the IT space. Well, I leaned on my experience out of high school and started KC Decorative Lights in Sept of 2022. In the first year, we exceed projections by 180% and are on pace to double revenue in the second year. Our primary focus is holiday lights, exterior lighting, & interior residential lighting.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, it was a smooth road. One struggle was learning the business side of things. I knew I had the skill, but everything else was a constant learning moment.

KC Decorative Lights specializes in installing lighting systems for residential properties (i.e., holiday lighting, interior & exterior lighting). We offer a range of services, including design consultation, installation, and maintenance, to ensure you have the right lighting to meet your needs and enhance the look of the spaces. Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I always like playing sports outside or riding my bike around town. I played baseball all through high school.
