Inspiring Conversations with Jersey Herold of Studio 41 Aesthetics and Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jersey Herold.

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I’d love to! My journey all started my Junior year of High School when my skin took a turn for the worse; I started experiencing the worst acne breakouts ever! I sought help from a dermatologist, which helped, but I was still needing a little more help! That is when I came across what an Esthetician is and what they can do for your skin! I started seeing an esthetician regularly to help manage my teenage acne! I planned to attend the University of Kansas after graduating High School in May 2020. After having my senior year cut short due to COVID-19, I had hoped to have a typical college experience, and that was the least of it! After being on Zoom for both semesters I had studied at the University of Kansas, I decided my passion was in skincare. I have always considered how much I would enjoy attending esthetics school!

In June 2021, I traveled back home to tour Eric Fisher Academy to learn more about their Esthetics program! I was obsessed and felt at home the second I walked into the academy and talked with the admissions team! I relocated back to the Wichita area and got accepted into Eric Fisher Academy with a plan to start in January 2022. On November 3rd, 2021, I was sitting at my job at the time, wishing I was in Esthetics school already, and I got the text that changed my life forever! I was asked if I wanted to switch and move into the class starting next week on November 8th! I was so shocked when I got that text that I almost screamed, haha! I am a person who is all about signs and following my intuition, and I just knew I had to jump and start early! That was the best decision I could have made because it led me to meet my besties! I was blessed with the most supportive and amazing ladies in my Esthetician class to go through the 1,000-hour journey with! We laughed, cried, and learned, but we were there for each other no matter what!

By June 2022, we will all graduate and start our journeys as licensed estheticians! My passion for skincare deepened during school, and I fell in love with doing advanced treatments, specifically chemical peels! This was when I decided I wanted to work in a medical spa environment and perform mostly advanced services! After searching in Wichita and not finding something that caught my eye, I broadened my search to the Kansas City area, where I found a fantastic medical spa to work at underneath a Kansas Board Certified Plastic Surgeon! I spent about a year training there, learning more about medical-grade skincare, medical-grade chemical peels, microneedling (with PRP and Stem Cells), Laser treatments such as IPL, Laser hair removal, Laser tattoo removal, Radio Frequency, and Leg Vein removal! I am so blessed to have been able to learn everything I did and to be able to bring it into my practice! May 2023 rolls around, and this is when the plans to go solo start happening! I partnered with my estie bestie, and we curated our dream spa, known as Studio 41 Aesthetics and Wellness!

Studio 41 Aesthetics and Wellness is named after us and our journey through Esthetician school! We had kept encountering the angel number 1234 daily. Curiosity led us to discover that 1234 signifies being on the correct path and trusting that hard work pays off. As we neared the end of our time at EFA, we gifted ourselves matching angel number 1234 tattoos with our other two besties! Here’s the twist—each number represented our personal angel numbers, and that’s where the ’41’ in Studio 41 comes from! Flash forward to now, December 2023. I have been open for the last four months as a solo esthetician and love it! I am located in College Hill, Wichita, Kansas, Inside Lavished City Salon! Where we have our spa home now is everything we could have ever asked for! All the other renters in the building are truly amazing and so supportive of us!

It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Building a business can be a challenging road, haha! Social media likes to make it seem like it’s so easy, but there is a lot more time and effort involved than you think! That said, I wouldn’t trade being a business owner for the world! Some struggles along the way were finding the perfect spa home to start our business in! After searching for what seemed like forever, I had a mutual friend reach out to me about a studio opening soon, which led us to where we are now! We had free rein to design this room how we wanted and ran with it! We curated our space into everything we could have ever dreamed of!

I am the Co-Owner of Studio 41 Aesthetics and Wellness! I have been a Licensed Esthetician in the esthetics industry for the last two years! I specialize in treating acne and anti-aging skin, focusing on advanced skincare treatments! Treatments I perform in my office include custom-targeted facials to your skin concerns, medical grade chemical peels, microneedling, and brow/lash services such as brow lamination + tint and lash lift + tint! I am known for clearing my client’s acne with custom facials and chemical peels and removing their acne scars with microneedling! What sets me apart from others is knowing the struggles and pain you can have while going through acne breakouts that are taking over your life! As well as my extensive training with a Kansas Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, where I learned more about advanced esthetic treatments and techniques! I am so proud of all I have accomplished at the age of 21! I want readers to know that skincare is truly for everyone!! All genders, skin tones, skin types, and we are open to everyone! I strive to offer services that will make a difference in your skin and carry home care products that are truly revolutionary! I also would love for readers to know that I have services and products that are oncology-safe, pregnancy-safe, and safe for those who are breastfeeding! I truly love serving all parts of life, so I started taking clients as young as 3 years old! Now, on my littles, we are not doing a crazy service by any means! This treatment is more of a fun day out to treat your child who is obsessed with skincare! As someone passionate about working with kids, I am so happy to offer this treatment!

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was born and raised in a small town called Rose Hill outside of Wichita, Kansas! I attended all 13 years of school through the Rose Hill School District! Growing up, I was pretty social! Looking back, I always got in trouble for talking too much or playing “beauty salon” in school! So it makes sense that I eventually became an Esthetician who loves to chat and make others feel confident in their natural skin! Big interests for me growing up were makeup, dance, cheer, and overall anything pink and girly, haha! And yes, as an adult, my favorite color is still pink! In my teen years, if I wasn’t at my cheer practices, I worked at a local daycare!
