Heather, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began in healthcare over 18 years ago, I spent time working in critical care and labor and delivery as a registered. While I’ve always had a deep passion for caring for others, I also developed a strong interest in aesthetics and wellness—especially after navigating my own health challenges, including being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in 2016. That experience shifted my perspective and inspired me to explore how we can feel our best from the inside out.

Beauty Bar Aesthetics was born from a desire to blend the science of medicine with the art of aesthetics. I started small, offering injectables and wellness services, and over time, built a loyal client base through trust, natural results, and personalized care. As demand grew, so did our offerings—expanding into hormone therapy, advanced skin treatments, weight loss programs, and more. Today, Beauty Bar is not just a med spa—it’s a space where clients feel empowered, supported, and seen. I’m proud to lead a team of certified professionals who are equally passionate about delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in a warm, welcoming environment.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—but every challenge has shaped me into the provider and business owner I am today. I started Beauty Bar from scratch while still working full-time as a labor and delivery nurse and raising a family with two children. Balancing a demanding nursing schedule, motherhood, and building a business was incredibly tough, especially in the early stages. There were countless late nights, early mornings, and sacrifices along the way.

Starting the first medical spa in a small town also came with unique challenges. I was introducing services and treatments that many in the community weren’t familiar with, so education and trust-building were key. I had to overcome skepticism and prove that medical aesthetics and wellness could be approached with integrity, professionalism, and real results.

Through it all, I’ve learned how to pivot, persevere, and lean into my purpose. The challenges were real, but so was the passion—and that’s what has made this journey worth it.

Beauty Bar Aesthetics is a medical spa and wellness center where we specialize in enhancing natural beauty and promoting overall well-being. We offer a wide range of services including injectables, advanced skin treatments, medical-grade facials, weight loss programs, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, laser treatments, and wellness injections. At Beauty Bar Aesthetics, our services are guided by Dr. Wallace and myself, a registered nurse and certified master injector, alongside our team of highly trained, licensed aestheticians. Together, we ensure every treatment is safe, personalized, and results-driven.

What sets us apart is our personalized, evidence-based approach. Every treatment is tailored to the individual—we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care.

Our team is passionate about helping clients feel their best from the inside out. We’re known for delivering natural-looking results, prioritizing client safety, and creating a welcoming, judgment-free environment. Our clients trust us not only for our skill and professionalism but also for the way we truly listen and care.

What makes me most proud is how our brand has grown without compromising our values. We were the first med spa in our small town, and now we’ve expanded to serve multiple communities—all while staying rooted in education, compassion, and authenticity. We’re not just offering beauty services—we’re offering confidence, empowerment, and a place where wellness meets aesthetics.

We’re also excited to share that Beauty Bar Aesthetics is opening soon in Larned, Kansas! Expanding into this new location allows us to bring our signature services to Larned and the surrounding communities—making advanced aesthetics and wellness more accessible in a small-town setting. What’s especially meaningful is that we’re creating new opportunities for local estheticians to serve their own hometowns, offering high-quality care with a personal touch. We’re honored to grow alongside these communities and can’t wait to welcome new clients through our doors.

What were you like growing up?
I was born and raised in Ottawa, Kansas, and it’s the place I’ve proudly called home my entire life. Growing up in a small town gave me a deep appreciation for community, connection, and the importance of supporting one another. I graduated from high school right here in Ottawa, and I’ve always had a strong sense of pride and love for my hometown.

From a young age, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others. It was in middle school that I first felt the pull toward nursing, and that passion only grew stronger with time. There was never a doubt in my mind—caring for people was what I was meant to do. That early calling set the foundation for everything that followed, and it continues to inspire my work every day.
