Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Jeannisa Bowden.
Hi Dr. Jeannisa, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi, my name is Jeannisa Bowden. Married 33 years to Arthur Bowden. We have one son, Arthur Bowden Jr., daughter-in-law, Macie.
I have 30+ years of experience in conventional healthcare. Nursing and caring for people have always been my passion. I started as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Skilled Nursing Facility and in a hospital for 11 years. I transitioned over to a Family Medicine Clinic, where I worked as a front desk receptionist while going back to school. I have an Assoc. Degree in Medical Assistant. A Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management. Throughout the rest of those years, my job description consisted of nursing duties as a National Certified Medical Assistant. Ending with managing multiple family medicine clinics.
Over the years of watching patients come through the clinic and asking what else can I do other than taking a prescription? I wanted to be able to do more. I did not want to be a medical doctor with the responsibility of diagnosing and prescribing medications.
Healthcare is a broad field. I researched and fell in love with the Naturopathic Approach. I enrolled in Trinity School of Natural Health. As I worked full-time I paid for my education. I received my Designation as a Naturopathic Doctor.
I felt like my chapter in conventional medicine ended. I felt like God was telling me to be in position for when His people are ready for my assistance. With the support of my husband, I stepped out on faith and resigned in 2021. I opened my Holistic Clinic in West End, North Carolina. I am the Founder and owner/CEO of Bowden’s Natural Health Solutions. I am there to serve the people in person and virtually, no matter where you are located.
I continued my education with Kingdom College of Natural Health. I have a PhD in Natural Medicine.
I am a Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner. I am also a Licensed Ecclesiastical Holistic Practitioner.
Education never stops. I have other certifications and holistic awards because I’m always looking to educate self and stay on top of the latest and greatest so that I can better serve the people as they come.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Though I want to help everyone, everyone isn’t holistically minded. Insurance does not cover my services. Not everyone with insurance is willing to pay for the services out of pocket. Finance is a struggle.
