Hi Danielle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My husband, Jordan, and I have had long standing careers in education and government service. We have been searching for opportunities to create more flexibility with our time and family the past few years. A year ago, my husband starting pitching the idea of starting up a small business in the home services industry. Last summer, we landed on an Owner/Operator startup for a carpet cleaning company. Upon researching business models, we happened upon a people-driven company called Coconut Cleaning Co. We believed so much in the company, the brand, and more importantly the opportunity that it holds, that I stepped away from my career to pursue running our business full time.
With years of experience in the carpet cleaning service industry, we’re combining that hands-on expertise with our backgrounds in business, administration, and customer service. Our goal with brining Coconut Cleaning to Kansas City is to deliver what we believe is the best home hygiene and deep cleaning service available, while building a company that truly serves the families in our community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We launched Coconut Cleaning at the beginning of this year. So far, so good! We had an incredible start by launching at the Johnson County and Kansas City Home Shows this month. The franchise comes with the structure and support we need, while allowing us the freedom and flexibility to make it ours. I have joked with others that the only thing challenging this far with running a business with your spouse, is keeping business topics out of our date nights!

Coconut Cleaning is a professional floor cleaning service that emphasizes top-quality customer service at a convenience. We specialize in carpet, tile/grout, furniture and pet stains. However if you sit or stand on it – we clean it! Our products are eco-friendly making them pet and kid safe to remove inevitable dust, dirt and allergens. We pride ourselves on faster dry times. But what really sets us apart is our customer service – we want to provide a hassle free experience and upfront pricing so you don’t have an surprise charges during your appointment.
One other service that our customers enjoy has been our Coconut Club. When you participate in the monthly subscription, our customers enjoy cleanings up to 4x per year, all at 50% off while they are a member. There is no contract and comes with annual dryer vent cleanings and deeply discounted air duct services.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
We predict a rising trend in convenient home services. Having our homes deep cleaned further improves the quality of our health and our lives.
